I miss FnB because he could actually write and was articulate about his (often quirky) tastes in music.
I don't read Obner nearly as much as the old CMJ, there used to be a lot more conversation about new music, and a lot more "new voices" coming in, but I do like the political stuff because I get to pontificate in particularly satisfying ways. There is a southern cracker jock vibe here, but if you put on your anthropologist's lens, that can be interesting in itself. Wish there were more bitter goth girls posting to balance the married-cousins circle jerking.
Still Loogar is one of the few posters who has a distinct voice... helps with richness of the cyber-environment.
