Rock on. I had reserved today and tomorrow for making some cold calls and building my business better since I had really slacked off in November and December. So far, I have made zero phone calls, yet I have achieved:

1. A meeting with one of the bigger Chevrolet dealers in the area who claimed he would pay $150 an hour for a new designer to take care of his ads. I did a pro bono job for him at the very last minute last night, and he loved it. I'm not sure if what the final rate will be, but this is a good account to have.

2. An already scheduled meeting with a profitable realtor this afternoon.

3. Another one of my big realtors is back in town and moved to a new brokerage, so he's pitching me to the new office, and so far 4-5 new agents are already ready to go on his recommendation alone.

Anyone else having a decent Wednesday?

My girlfriend and I couldn't make it into work today because of freezing rain/snow. I'm thinking we might have to bust out some Mario Kart 64 when she wakes from her slumber...

Still in bed, nursing hangover and watching West Wing..so yeah, its a good day.

Good job on the business, Corey.

It's snowing all crazy outside and the city is in peril of being buried later today.

The boss is out until the afternoon. :D

I don't think I would try that in court.

(Ah yes, I remember that story.)

I found out that Ulrich Schnauss rated an album I did photography for #3 in his top 10 favorites for 2004. Mostly props to my friends. I think it's pretty sweet.

Otherwise I'm putting off writing a report, a presentation and the project summary for my thesis proposal.

But the madness hasn't begun yet.

Well seeing as I'm in chi town I can claim super snowy too. I was at the grocery store briefly this morning and when I got back in my car my damn defoggers wouldn't work so driving home was interesting. grrr.

At least it's quiet at work. Aside from the pregnant co-worker that sighs every two minutes. Big sighs. THAT is getting rather annoying today.

And a half hour ago when I called the county clerk's office to get a copy of our marriage certificate so I can go in and get my name changed I found out that our officiant never sent our license/certificate in. It's 2 1/2 mos later. WTF? The lady there told me that yeah until they get it we're legally not married. So I'm less then happy right now.

Think happy thoughts Jen. Think happy thoughts. :?

Whoever out there is blowing my voodoo doll, don't stop. Since this morning:

1. A freelancer friend of mine is passing off work for a decent sized shopping center to me because she is going to St. Thomas next week and can't meet deadline.

2. A present client wants me to do a website for his neice's business in Barbados. [Online casino, maybe?]

3. Same client also told me he's now head of a division with a $7-9M budget and will need lots of communication and promotional materials from yours truly.

Christ. I'm never gonna find time to beat off.

Court cost me $10 and one 8 hour day of community service.

I sold a guitar, traded a bass, got a new bass, and paid rent.

Not too shabby.

I've seen, erm, I mean, uh, a friend told me that in some places if you do it on the weekend you get double credit for your time.

Corey, if I believed in the lottery I'd say you should buy a ticket. Fine job, man.

I can't compete with your luck, but things in Flint ain't too bad. To wit:

• Had a 2nd visit to the chiropractor this morning, and it did wonders for the neck/left shoulder pain that had me doubled over and essentially immobile on Tuesday. Another visit tomorrow morning will help even more.

• Saw the mock-ups for the new weekly section I'm in charge of creating and it looks pretty damn fabulous. The editorial and marketing groups who saw them today were equally impressed and are even more excited about what we're doing now.

• Got my new wheelchair ordered today and should receive it in 2-3 weeks.

• Thus far, the snow that's pummeling Chicago has missed us. This is a good thing.

• My one-time galpal who now lives in London sent some great pics of her and her husband's recent trip to Rome. And she's firming up airfare to come back home in March for a visit - the first in almost 4 years!
