These folks are still making music?

I just noticed they're playing at the Norva in Norfolk, VA. I had no idea that they still performed.

Weird

Their new single "Juicy" is substantially un-Ezra like and is more like a Bee Gees song, so it might get some notice.

My wife's a fan, I've gone to a couple shows of theirs with her. They really put on quite a good show. I like quite a bit of their stuff, actually. Their pleasant, catchy stuff works for me when I'm in a particular mood.

On a side note, does anyone have any idea why their drummer has a tiny kick drum sitting a couple of feet away from the big kick drum? Like this:

They've gotten lumped with a stack of somewhat similiar 90's bands, which is unfortunate. While I'm not a genuine fan, I do respect BTE's pop-to-lyrical-insight chops a hundred times more than I do the shit-Trains and 3 Doors Downs of the world,

yeah, in general, i find their work pleasant and fun, but nothing mind-blowing. however, "nocturnes" is a lovely album which made me think they'd become more

One of my favorite bands of the 90's. I think they've gone the route of adult contemporary, but that's cool. Deluxe and Friction, Baby still get regular play in my can't seem to get out of the 90's household.

However, I can't say that they're too spectacular live. I've seen them five or six times and every single show has been the same. So, I guess they were really good the first time I saw them and on repeat every other time.

One of the greatest BTE moments for me was when BTE and Glen Phillips opened for Train at the House of Blues in Chicago on NYE a few years back. The singer from Train (Pat something) was singing a cover song and invited Kevin from BTE and Glen out to sing with him. Never in my life have I seen funnier looks of apprehension. They also left the stage after like one verse. Doesn't seem like anyone likes that dude from Train.

What frosted said. ditto.

I really like this band. I only have one of their albums but I'll have to rectify that. Want to hear their new single. Aren't they from NOLA?

They're from Baton Rouge. My wife's accounting firm used to have them as a client.

I still think "How Does Your Garden Grow?" was one of the most under-rated album of the late 90's.

I saw them live for the first time 2 months ago. It was enjoyable but the singer talked too damn much in between songs. It can be forgiven if the banter is on the witty side but I just wanted to hear these fuckers play. Been 8 years since they came to town so less talk, more rock i say.

The joke used to be Better Than Sister Hazel, but Sister Hazel have faded away to AC semi-stalwarts.

Man. Thank you. I just watched the t.v. airing of 10 Things I Hate About You last night and there's that one song in it that is actually kinda good (besides the Letters to Cleo cover of Cheap Trick). I couldn't remember the name of the band to save my life. You just got a gold star for the day pal. Sister Hazel was it.
