One of the most surreal moments of my life came in 2000 when I was interviewing Al Gore on the telephone (it was during the campaign, obvs) and he was on board Air Force Two.

Me: So, where are you headed?
Him (in classic Gore kinda-drawl): "Well, we're on our way to a campaign stop at LSU... gonna see the rock band, Better Thayan Ezruh, perform."

I about lost it.

A Guster thread and a Better Than Ezra thread all in the same day? Nobody start a Toad The Wet Sprocket one or I'll feel spoiled.

At one point, I owned all BTE's albums but found that I didn't really like any of them all the way through. So I sold them with the intention of buying their Greatest Hits. I'll get around to that someday.

Msgr. Cat Eater is an unpleasant person vis-a-vis cute stoner-lite bands.

They gotta eat, too, ya know.
And they let us know Ezra's not all that.
That's a service right there.

I love the Toad. Also, Fountains Of Wayne and Gin Blossoms, even.

Even.

I still think "How Does Your Garden Grow?" was one of the most under-rated album of the late 90's.

I really really liked that album and still do, despite my musical tastes expanding and growing since junior year of high school. I saw it as them trying to do something different/more experimental than the straightforward alterna-pop on their first two albums (which I still remember fondly).

Ditto. Though I don't really group FOW in with Ezra, Wayne, and Gin. Just because of the time period.

I like 'em.

Delux was one of the first CDs I owned and listened to more than once.
