At two separate points in the job interview process yesterday, I name-dropped Little Roger and The Goosebumps and the Stones.

First instance, I was asked about hobbies, during which I mentioned music and record collecting. This led to the, "What's your most prized record". Rather than trying to explain the rarity of a German EMI pressing of Anarchy For The UK in a picture sleeve, I went with "Stairway" and the story behind it.

Second instance, with a different person, concerned the little blurb on my CV about my college radio show. "What kind of music?" "Rock and Roll" "Who's your favorite band?". Here, I cheesed and went with a "safe" response. I replied, "Based on their longevity, and the wide array of ground they've covere, it's hard to argue against the Stones." So help me this dude, (he's the CFO and probably in his mid to upper 60's) says, "Yeah, I was 10th row center on the floor the last time they played here. They were amazing."

I don't know if these are good signs or bad.

Bodes well for your interview.

Bad for your work environment.

HA! When I got my job, I had to interview with a dude on a race in Pennsy. and he looked at my resume, saw I went to UGA and we talked about the music scene, Wilco, The Old 97s and REM for about a half hour before he was like "Yeah, you'll work out fine, we'll call you monday."

I'd say its a pretty good sign.

Maybe it just proves that the only people that can afford those tickets are old, rich guys.
