It's been a rough few months for her. She can't sing and was probably trying to make up for the lip syncing episode on SNL, but she was absolutely awful tonight.

Edit: I think this link works, trying now: http://www.monhaut.com/media/simpson.avi

I thought they did a good job of concealing the strings and Joe's hands.

What a freaking beautiful train wreck that was.

I mean what about the college football demographic tells you that they want to see Ashlee Simpson and Kelly Clarkson?

At least we know Ashlee didn't lip synch. Awful.

Was it me or did it seem like there was this great silence of about 3 seconds after Simpson ended her song and the barrage of boos that followed. I wonder how much their record company ponied up to get them on that stage only to see it go down like that?

Best debacle since the Super Bowl halftime show.

Oh my god!!

That was just hideous. What the HELL was she even trying to sing??

She should just give it up. She'll never redeem herself in any way shape or form of a career after the SNL thing.

Maybe, just maybe, some strip clubs will hire her.

I love the booing though, it just goes to show that people really do have taste when it comes down to it.

Ashlee is so bad it's got me wanting to protect her now.

Don't pick on the poor girl. She's just trying to become a multimillionaire like her sister! Let her come out from Jess' shadow. Ashlee Hung! Ashlee Hung!

Come give frosty a hug, Ash. I keep the bad bad obner from your tender bosom(s).

Considering the caliber of babeliciousness on stage with the divine Ms S and band, I doubt that minister-turned-manager Joe Simpson had so much to do with the management of the performance.

Some of those girls even looked like they could be Suicide Girls, I mean. For serious... Like the anti-Jessica Simpson, or something.

I kinda feel bad for the girl.
I mean, she has no business singing but you can't blame her for accepting the fame (and the money), when it is just handed to her.

Yeah, she should expect something like this but still, she's just a kid.

Yeah, my parental instincts are kicking in.

Anybody else think that the beginning of that Kelly Clarkson song sounded like Interpol?

Thats as far as I got on that trainwreck; I muted the sound and got back to my book. The game was over anyways.....

No, it just goes to show peoples was mad drunk.

Anything the organizers would have put out there, even an all-SWAC step-show, would have been booed. The Three Tenors would have heard it. Metallica. Anybody.

70,000 at one event expecting to see football + 70,000 flasks + One beer vendor per 500 people (estimate) = Willing to lambaste anything that gets in the way of the fotbal americain. It's pretty simple, really.

Did the bands for USC or Oklahoma play. I would much rather hear that than mediocre pop crap. Next year they are going to think to themselves

"Ashlee Simpson and Kelly Clarkson weren't edgy enough. Somebody get Puddle of Mudd and Hoobastank on the phone!"

i highly doubt Metallica would be booed by college-aged drunk football fans. it has nothing about there being halftime entertainment, it was the choice of entertainment and their ensuing performances, which were hilariously bad. at least ol ashlee's.

I will defend Ashlee Simpson to my dying day. In fact, sometimes, she even makes my late-late-late-blooming sexuality induced, middle-school style masturbation fantasies turn totally away from Mandy Moore.

Speaking of which: as all the principal teen queen pop machines have had (at least one) irresistable dance hit -- Britney's "Stronger", Christina's "Legendary Arabian Spirit Contain'd in a Vial" (sounds like Chemical Bros' "Let Forever Be"), Jessica's "Irresistable" (sounds like the Flaming Lips, Soft Bulletin era... for serious), Mandy's "In My Pocket" --, I expect that Ashlee shall have hers. And it will be amazing.

The difference being, Ashlee Simpson is already 19 and I am only 24, while 'Spoon is 38 and the actress in Lemony Snicket is just entering her teens.

She's 16, by the way. And I never said I was "fixated." I said she was pretty and a good actress. Which you would have noticed if you weren't already a sick fuck, etc.

Spoon,
I've noticed that you have a very certain type that you find attractive...
Kate Bush
Liv Tyler
the Lemony Snicket girl...

all have a very similar, elfin kinda look to them.

Let me guess, you're hot for Bjork, too?
