Do you all ever listen to any of the bands on there. Every once in a while I check one of them out, even though their friends requests are like spam emails.

If I am in the right mood I enjoy checking this stuff out. Am I perpetuating something that is going to get out of hand, or am I not the only one that listens when they tell me to?

And for your daily dosage of street-teaming: check THESE GUYS OUT

Once in awhile but they're mostly disappointing. I've got like 20 bands added to my friends list though.

For my podcast I do.

I've discovered so many great bands from down under, new zeeeland, the uk ... stuff I would've never heard if not for MS.

Also, I keep tabs on bands that don't have rekkid deals no more but still post new songs they've just worked on. Like say The Katies, one of my all-time favs who just posted 4 new songs that i've been enjoying immensely.

I would sometimes check out bands other than the ones who would spam me, but eventually removed my profile and stopped going there because I would get messages like "DUDE!!!@!! CHecK Out OUr band, Dr FUNKTAPUS!" several times a day.

I usually give every band that tries to add me as a friend a listen, but I don't usually find anything that great. I will add almost any local band that attempts to add me, since I know a great deal of these people and hate to snub them.
I never check out the bands that send you the spam messages.

Granted, it's a nice idea, but it can tend toward pathetic, especially with a million mediocre bands all trying to divert your attention to basically the same, pretty unattractive little corner of the net. In a world where it's crazy easy to design a fairly good-looking website, I think myspace is dull, dull, dull.

I say get off your ass and get a real website.

Low in the Sky... very RJD2ish. Kind of underwhelming.

FWIW, you can turn off the add requests from bands. I did and it made my myspace life much more enjoyable.

If bands want my attention, they have to do it the old-fashioned way by sinking millions of dollars into marketing plans and hoping for the best.

No free rides in America ya hippies. :?

BEST MYSPACE BAND EVER

i don't know if these guys are for real or not, but that is the most hilarious thing i've ever seen on myspace. anytime i'm in a bad mood, i just click on that and it never fails to cheer me up.

i don't add bands unless 1. it's a friend's band or 2. i REALLY like the band and want to keep tabs on them. especially when people see you work in marketing at a record label, i get spam mail all the time. it's so annoying.
