Seems to be a shorter slightly different track listing...

did a basic search and found this page that has both album covers and a whole lot of words but I dont know if it explains the difference between the two though..

It's still an excellent compilation.

Also, if you like "Shades of Blue" get "Blue Note Revisited" it's a bunch of different dj's doing the same thing Madlib did.
