I thought Todd would ave posted this, but I didn't see it yet:

I'm not holding my breath that it will be good.
I didn't even know Curt had a solo disc...

Enough with the reunion tours! I know I'm getting ripped off but I still can't keep myself away.

I'm only going if they perform their first album in its entirety.

I saw Curt Kirkwood play solo a couple months ago and he was great, if they swing through STL I'll definately go.

good to hear that cris finally kicked the horse

I remember reading interviews with people several years back that knew him and said things to the effect of "yeah, we're just waiting for him to die"

This is the main reason this is such awesome news.

Plus, musically speaking, his habit is the only reason they broke up in the first place, from all accounts. I'm assuming that it's the original trio of Curt, Cris, and Derrek; if so, this tour could kick all kinds of ass.

The article said the drummer will not be touring. Filling in will be the drummer from Primus

I don't know if that's good or bad.

I love the Meat Puppets but Golden Lies was a less than stellar album so it seemed to me like they were on their way down anyway. Hopefully it's just one poor album and they just needed a long break or something. I'd love to have good Meat Puppets back.

They released the very poor Monsters just before the excellent Forbidden Places and Too High To Die albums.

So, while I echo your sentiment, I am also hopeful.

Well, if it's Brain, he's apparently the go-to fill-in for reconvening (sort of) 80s hard rock bands. Seeing as he drummed on the (still unrelease) Chinese Democracy, played live with GN'R, and is doing these Meat Puppets events, now.
