Back before Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! came into existence, Alec was just a humble singer living in Philadelphia, recording songs in his bedroom.

Here is the 15 track demo which is good quality to boot!

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, there were a handful of people that really liked it from what I remember of the CYHSY posts a while back. But, this is the same reason why mr. Bright Eyes and Desaparecidos bother me so much. Although, I think CYHSY takes the cake within this genre of purposefully singing off.

This kind of stuff is like performance art. Super lame. :)

i began to dig on his voice. it was tough at first but after listening to "by the skin of my yellow country teeth" it all kind of fell into place. the david byrne comparisons kind of piss me off though. just because he tries to rip the guy off in a pretty poor way doesn't mean we have to defile byrne's voice.

well written blurb there pilgrim. good to hear they've got a new one in the works. lots of potential, but also lots of potential to be let down.

I wish they'd announce a tour schedule so I'll know what 100-mile radiuses to avoid.

my only problem was that there wasn't
a lot of variety on the first album

i didnt think anything stuck out
you could re-arrange the whole album
and i wouldn't know the difference

something with the pace and melodies
it was all about the same
(except that first track)

not super excited for another
but ill definately give a listen

i still really like that CYHSY album. typically I dont like that style of music, but a lot of the songs are just damn good.

yeah...some of the songs i'm really tired of. like the first five say. "by the skin..." is just too good to be sick of. the last song where he just starts screaming "chas tise CHAS TISE CHAS TISE CHAS TISE" is so miserable. "gimme some salt" is ill. there are like 3 songs on it that i really like....the other one is where he says "you look just like david bowie." that shit is good too. overall, it's okay. but when i first listened to it, it was pretty off the chain.
