crazy easy. Decide what you want to fill it with. cook that in a skillet with some butter, and maybe some pepper. Pre-cook your crust at 400 for 10-15, make sure you fork some holes in it.

Fill the crust with whatever is in your quiche. Throw some grated cheese of your choice on top. Beat four eggs and a tiny bit of milk, or cream. Pour over the filling. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes.

Let it set for 10 minutes. Slice. Enjoy.

Such hostilities over a quiche.

mmm... i unfortunately only go there before LSA shows. and since i don't really like LSA, i rarely go. i need to do that more often, especially with summer around the bend and doing a lot more biking.

i had french toast and orange juice. simple and good.

I bet it tastes pretty good though. Why is food so hard to photograph?

That's why they pay guys lots of dough to make it look good in ads.

It's all faked. Those little droplets of water on lettuce? Vegetable Oil. Sesame seeds? Glued on individually, at least some of them. Big, fat juicy burgers? Only browned on the outside, but then they cut a wedge out of the back and spread it out to make it look wider. I think with ice cream they superfreeze balls of it, then add the little edge around the bottom. I used to know a whole bunch of the little tricks.

It used to be all inedible things or barely edible products made for commercials. Ice Cream on commercials used to be a Crisco like product.

Looks mighty good, Phil. :)

Senor Six and I went all-out today:

Sweet-potato homefries, toasted chocolate-chip bagels, homebrewed lattes, sliced oranges, and I made some of my special omelettes: tomato, avocado, onion, ginger and cilantro. Mmmm... We ate hours ago and I'm still full.

ice cream = mashed potatoes
nothing heats up and sweats under the lights.

i was at a photo shoot where the guy had to photograph a giant rack of meat that looked like it was cooking on a rotating spit.
he had major iv's injected into the meat filled with oil to make it look like was filled with juicy goodness oozing out everywhere.
looked pretty damn good, too.

Here is an excerpt of an article on food stylist:

http://news.inq7.net/lifestyle/index.ph ... y_id=69527

Glenda Barretto of the Via Mare chain of restaurants realized that using mashed potatoes as a substitute for ice cream was now “obsolete.”

“Now I can use Crisco and powdered sugar,” she said. “[And] to make my sauces look shiny in pictures I only need to add Karo syrup. That I really didn’t know.”
