Does it surprise anyone that I owe multiple copies of some matchbox twenty CDs? No? I didn't think so.

Now I listen to most of my music on my iPod, so the discs stay safely at home at all times and I haven't really bought "back up" copies of anything.

you know...in your defense...i remember when 120mins was hyping this band back in the day. prior to it going to the top 40 charts. i remember listening to the shit out of that disc.....however evrything after their debut was ASS....do you have their first cd (their name wasnt mb20) - cant remember the name. i can get the disc and rip it if you want.

I've gotten much better about it... I went through a stage finding cheap copies of things I love and thinking I could sell them on ebay for a profit. Of course, most still sit in a box still because I'm lazy...

I do however always search the used bins for The God Machine "Second Storey" or The Wren's "Secaucus". I've found both (usually at some dusty bookstore off the indie path) and resold both... and still have a sealed copy of each. I probably need to sell the Wren's ones because eventually they will get back control of Secaucus....

Anyway, if I'm browsing a used bin and come across something that I own and love and it's ridiculously cheap, I'm a moron buying another copy too.

I don't buy multiple copies per say...but I do upgrade from time to time my albums that are kinda scratched up, either through lots of use or abouse or just 'cause I grabbed a cheap copy, regardless of condition. Most recently, I picked up another copy of Poguetry in Moption in excellent shape to replace the trashed one I was still playing. Have gone through probably like five copies of Ray Charles: Modern Sounds in Country & Western to get the scratch-free copy I have today.

This is my M.O. also. The one exception is London Calling, I did buy two British pressings when I already had a perfectly fine Canadian pressing. Yes, the Brit pressing is well worth it, if you find a good one.
