I don't buy multiple copies per say...but I do upgrade from time to time my albums that are kinda scratched up, either through lots of use or abouse or just 'cause I grabbed a cheap copy, regardless of condition. Most recently, I picked up another copy of Poguetry in Moption in excellent shape to replace the trashed one I was still playing. Have gone through probably like five copies of Ray Charles: Modern Sounds in Country & Western to get the scratch-free copy I have today.
This is my M.O. also. The one exception is London Calling, I did buy two British pressings when I already had a perfectly fine Canadian pressing. Yes, the Brit pressing is well worth it, if you find a good one.
