oh man... if Chicago tickets aren't outrageously priced, I'm there. I've really spent a lot on concert and baseball tickets this year already.

Thanks for the list!

The Auditorium Theatre is pretty nice. I saw Wilco there a few years ago. Holds almost 4,000 people. No smoking indoors. Sightlines are great... I stood in multiple places during the show (balcony, floor, stage, etc) and never had a problem seeing the stage. I think that the sound is great, but I'm also not a sound freak, so most venues are acceptable by my standards.

Are you thinking of coming to Chicago to see a show?

Yup. I've never followed a band across the US and Radiohead would be my first choice to it for. Of course, I'd need to figure out if I can afford it.

Who's willing to let me crash on their sofa for the night? :)

I have a pull-out bed! Will that work? I also make pretty great square and rectangle shaped blueberry pancakes.

what they should do is just add a new york date so i can get my brother to buy me a ticket.

The Boston one is actually pretty small compared to where they've played their last 2 times through. Maybe 10K tops? It's where they played before OK Computer really blew up.

I'll never get these guys closer to me than Chicago. We don't have a decent amphitheater in our area and they aren't playing massive arenas like the Qwest Center in Omaha. They could have played the Orpheum in Omaha where Bright Eyes/Spoon played to 4,400 people, but tickets would be exceedingly expensive. They probably have no interest in coming to the heart of the Great Plains for a show, even if they were going to make a ton of cash.

No, they don't want to play Nebraska. They don't want to risk being accosted in a dark corridor by Conor Oberst and getting forcible handjobs.

By the by, when did Radiohead become the paramount non-indie listen for people in indie-bands and/or in the indie "scene"? Was it before or after the dalliance with Weezer?

I'd like to get tickets to one of the Boston shows but I'm sure it's gonna sell out in like 2 minutes.

Oberst lives in NYC now. He and Nick Zinner of the YYY's are too busy with each other to worry about Radiohead.

Radiohead Sets North American Theater Tour
Radiohead
May 01, 2006, 2:30 PM ET
Katie Hasty, N.Y.
Radiohead has announced a set of June tour dates consisting of two-show theater stints in North American nine cities. The run will open with a June 1-2 stand just outside of Philadelphia at the Tower Theatre and conclude with a June 29-30 showing at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre. Opening acts have not yet been named.

Previously reported speculation of multiple-night visits to Chicago, Montreal and Toronto have also come to fruition. In addition, the U.K.-based act will perform twice in New York, San Diego, Los Angeles and Berkeley, Calif. Tickets for some of the newly-announced shows go on sale Friday (May 5) via the band's Web site.

Outside of a previously announced June 17 headlining appearance at Tennessee's Bonnaroo festival, no other North America tour dates are being planned, according to a band spokesperson.

Radiohead's European festival dates begin May 6-7 in Copenhagen and will pick back up in August with a handful of dates in the U.K. and Hungary.

Here are Radiohead's North American tour dates:

June 1-2: Upper Darby, Pa. (Tower Theatre)
June 4-5: Boston (Bank of America Pavilion)
June 7-8: Toronto (Hummingbird Center)
June 10-11: Montreal (Salle Wilred Pelletier at Places des Arts)
June 13-14: New York (Theatre at Madison Square Garden)
June 17: Manchester, Tenn. (Bonnaroo)
June 19-20: Chicago (Auditorium Theatre)
June 23-24: Berkeley (Greek Theater)
June 26-27: San Diego (Bayside)
June 29-30: Los Angeles (Greek Theater)
