I third this nomination. It had one or two decent songs on it, but the rest of this put me to sleep.

haha...I used to think estone and I had similar taste based on him liking van morrison, nicolai dunger and a little bit of afropop. I can't remember the last album I agreed with him on though :(

and when i say disappoiniment - i dont think its horrible. i just had some high expectations for it. there are some good songs, but alot of so-so tunes....

i thought blackberry belle was great front to back....i was kind of hoping for that kind of consistency again.

I like him a lot on cd...he almost put me to sleep live though. Don't judge him based on his live act if that's all you've heard.

My major disappointment is sort of en masse at the entire musical community because I've not heard a genuinely great album this year so far.

I'm hoping 'Rather Ripped' by Sonic Youth comes to the rescue.

Then you need to give You in Reverse a listen or three. It's awesome!

duuuude. That was an excellent album. "No it wasn't." "Yes it was." etc.

But seriously.

The Strokes fuckin' brought it live, but I still don't know about that album. Only a few of the tracks grab me.

Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell, I think I like this album. I haven't listened to it in about a month, but I think it's a solid but nowhere near outstanding album.

Neko's album is amazing.

My big disappointment is Destroyer. I think I'll eventually like this, but goddamn is that first track hard to get through at 9+ minutes.

Except I had reasonable hopes for this since I ended up quite liking Room on Fire once the initial hype/disappointment died down.

Beyond the first few songs, First Impressions does nothing for me.

That said, I will give it another listen in a couple of days when my schedulw settles down a bit

Ray Davies - Other People's Lives

I suppose there is no way this could have ever lived up to expectations. But that said, this is a disappointly pedestrian offering from one of my favorite songwriters of all-time.

It's competent, to be sure. Doesn't suck. But it is sadly uninspired and uninspiring.
Just really bummed about this one.

This will be in my Top 10 for the year and I don't find it uninspired at all.
