When you are meeting someone for lunch and they say they are going to be slightly late, don't just sit in your car waiting for them to pull in. Actually go in to the restaurant and wait for them. Go ahead and do it, it's probably not that scary.

I sat in my car waiting for ayah for over an hour today while she had, like, balls and went into the restaurant alone. Yes people, for an hour I was sitting in the parking lot mere feet from where ayah was eating by herself.

How can someone who's done some of the things I've done and said some of the things I've said to people still be so goddamn shy?!

Anyway. As always, ayah, a pleasure. This woman continually rocks my socks off with her awesomeness.

shyness has always been one thing that i have trouble tolerating. there's just no excuse for it and it never really results in anything turning out better. just smoke a j in the car next time and then go right into the restaurant. the food will call your name.

I hear ya, Stacey.... I do those sorts of things at times too. Do either of you have a cell phone? I've found that they can come in handy, and you don't end up sitting in your car to wait for your friend! Don't sweat it too hard.

Bring a book or magazine with you wherever you go. Then, when someone's late or you've shown up early, you automatically have something to take your mind off the fact that you're alone.
