Has anyone heard his solo album or seen him play live? I know he is the frontman for Super Furry Animals and was wondering what he was like solo. He's opening for Bright Eyes in Omaha. The City of Omaha is sponsoring this show at a local park and it is free to the public.

Oh, I am going already. I have a friend who lives near the park. We are going to drink and BBQ before we head over. A bunch of local bands are suppose to play as well. During the 4th of July Shows at the park, they usually allow coolers and beer, so we're hoping we can bring some along too.

I was just curious to know how he sounds solo and what to expect.

Solo he sounds a bit like their Welsh language album MWNG. The albums is OK but it's a folky electronic welsh mish mash.

Sounds superb, I can't wait to hear him sing Welsh live. I'll try to give this solo album a listen beforehand. Thanks for the description.

i saw him at tonic and was bored out of my head. i wanted to smack him. personally, it was just a bunch of fluff, kitsch, and crap. i thought it was just bullshit. this was a year ago, i don't know if he's still doing that though. at least he's keeping up the welsh language, i'll give him credit for that.

solo stuff = so-so

I bought his solo record cause it was 2 bucks. I listened to it once or twice and didn't dislike it, but haven't pulled it out since. I'd still go though.
