this is my last bump on this for a long time. i promise

disc 1 has two good songs and one is the single. disc 2 is much more
interesting. it's like californication part 2. it's as if the first
disc is a continuation of what was bad about by the way. the second
disc is a continuation of what was good about californication with the
lessons of by the way incorporated. disc 2 is only going to grow on
me.

About half through disc 1 and I really like what I've heard so far. But I also like Californication and BTW.

John F. IS this band. No on one else.

I'll have to give disc 1 another spin soon, after I let disc 2 grow on me more. I'm really starting to fall in love with a lot of the stuff on disc 2. "Hard To Concentrate" is so pretty. Completely agree with you about Frusciante, and this song proves it. O man. Just at the end of the track, 3:38, he plays such a beautiful accompanying part. What he's done so well on this album is to not be in your face at all until a moment when it is absolutely merited, and then it just blows you away.

"Hard to Concentrate" into "21st Century" is a great transition, and a sick bassline from Flea. I love this band.

the allmusic write-up states what this album is perfectly, by the way
