To answer some questions that came up:

1. It is my understanding that if a team is favored by 10 and they win by 10 that they covered the spread and therefore the push should go to the favorite.

2. This weekend's odds are:

Seattle over St. Louis by 4
San Diego over NY Jets by 7
Indianapolis over Denver by 10
Green Bay over Minnesota by 6

I think most sports books call that a push, and nobody wins. For the sake of this contest, obviously that's not going to work. It's your game, so you make the call----push goes to the favorite?

Yes. I am considering if they meet the spread, they cover it.

Tim and Kristen have got to be stoked. It has been a good weekend for visiting sides so far, a fairly easy victory for St. Louis, and a nail-biter, back-and-forth for the J E T S (Jets, Jets, Jets!), when those games usually go to the home team.

And, just a note: the Packers have lost at Lambeau in the playoffs (27-7 against the Falcons in '03 (following '02 season)), nearly lost last year (winning on third possession in overtime against Seattle), and have gone but 4-4 at home so far this year (including a loss to the Bears; yes, that's right, I'll admit, Spade Kat). Now, if only Moss shows up to play -- preferably like he did on a rainy Monday Night in October '98 (three td, each from at least 40 yards out (I think)). Would be wicked awesome.

ok, the people out this week are:

7. Denver - Kristen Otto
8. San Diego - Shane Soucek
11. Green Bay - Jim Wilson
12. Seattle - Keith Williams

Congratulations to all the people that made it thru. It was a weekend for the underdogs. We'll see if that holds up next week too!

I made it through the wilderness of Seatle. But god-damn I wish the Pack had won. It's going to be a looooong off-season in Packerland.

Favre retires. Sherman is fired from both gm and coach.

Pioli for gm and president of football operations? Would he think to bring in Norm Chow from SC as head coach?

Maybe trade up and grab Alex Smith or Leinart in the draft?

Just some thoughts...

OK, so for week 2 the matchups with the preliminary spreads are:

Pittsburgh (Sketch) 9 point favorite over the New York Jets (Dreaded Marco)
Atlanta (bitterbuffallo) 7 point favorite over St. Louis (Max)
Philadelphia (Jeff Whiteman) 9.5 point favorite over Minnesota (timmyjoe42)
New England (lockness lobster) 2.5 point favorite over Indianapolis (Harry Helsel)
