burning question: dvds

how do you burn a movie onto a dvd?
i've burned photo/art files on to dvds. is it the same?
i copied the movie onto my computer.
now what?

i'm running mac ox10.4.6 if that means anything.

burning question - ahahah.

No, you can't just copy the file, because the DVD player won't know what to do with it. You'll need a program that will create a playable movie DVD from the file, but I don't know what that is on the Mac.

I thought iDVD or iMovie could help with that. It needs to convert the working file into a DVD-playable format...the specific standards/names escape my memory right now, but it shouldn't be too hard.
