I always liked the theme music to Angel, from the first time I heard it. Buffy's needed to grow on me (but it has).

Firefly.

I'm also a big big fan of Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet's "Having An Average Weekend" (used by Kids In The Hall)

TV shows whose themes were used on our answering machine in college:
1. 90210
2. CHiPS

We took the chips theme so far that when we called somebody it came up "Ponch & John." This was at the tail end of the home-number+ caller-ID-but-no-cellphone era.
