The new Rhino Bucket. Classic AC-DC two-chord boogie, with a singer that's a dead ringer for Bon Scott.

Jesu's new EP, Silver, is incredible.

Tool - 10,000 Days, but this it totally obvious.

I haven't heard it yet, but I see good things about the new Killing Joke album - I may pick that up today. Clips make it sound slightly "lighter" than the previous album - more keys, making it sound a bit like Pandemonium.

Good, yes; amazing, no.

They abandon their sludge for some speedier punk/metal songs on some of the songs. I like the slower ones better from them.

some excellent metal releases....

darkthrone - the cult is alive
cult of luna - somewhere along the highway
demiricous - one
jesu - silver
carpathian forest - fuck you all
facedowninshit - nothing positive only negative
unearthly trance - the trident
kataklysm - in the arms of devastation
lair of the minotaur - the ultimate destroyer
satyricon - now diabolical

Have you checked out Mammatus? It's more stoner rock, but very good.

decapitated - organic hallucinosis
dragonforce - inhuman rampage
drudkh - blood in our wells
dysrhythmia - barriers and passages
keep of kalessin - armada
wolves in the throne room - diadem of 12 stars
yakuza - samsara

and then dalen mentioned some good stuff (lair of minotaur and darkthrone are two of my favorites of the year) and then whoever mentioned Mammatus, that slays.
