i really don't see any backlash.

it seems as though you either love them or think they are just ok. there hasn't been one person on here saying they suck.

Yeah they don't suck...they sound fantastic. But lots of bands do. And they sound like lots of bands.

I love the album. My favorite of the year so far. Can't top Wicked Gil and Weed Party (Funeral and Great Salt Lake are outstanding as well). Mixtape fodder.

its amazing how many bands there are right now that have that neutral milk hotel sound. i dont even like NMH that much but hell, a lot of bands sound a hell of a lot like them with dramatic vocals, etc (band of horses, MMJ, modest mouse, clap your hands, etc, etc)

If I had a faster internet connection I'd be listening to you much more, Dalen.

I was introduced to Band of Horses by my awesome bartender about a month ago.

calm down, i think this is the 2nd thread about them.

this album is great and i think the funeral is better than anything MMJ's ever written.

First of all, maybe I wasn't clear. That was a sarcastic statement insinuating that they were not run of the mill.

And second, Double-stuffed, BITCH!

EDIT: Dang it. The link didn't show the results. There were four threads alone that had the exact title Band of Horses.

WE'RE CLOSER THAN EVER.

Everything I've heard from this band sucks. More boring than Arcade Fire. Whenever they pop up on KEXP, I change the station about half the time.

The gf randomly went to highschool in Irmo, SC with Ben from BOH. Also with Sam Beam. They're all still friends and we see them when we're down that way.

I actually got a burn of the CD from Ben at a new years eve party. When he gave it to me he jokingly said "just don't put it up on the interent or anything." I laughed, but truth is if he hadn't said that it would have been up the next day. Out of love, of course. These guys should be heard.

I still think it's awesome you had it first. You've got to get up pretty early in the morning to trump Dalen on a pre-release date.

they probably gave a cd to someone else who then upped it :) it was one of the albums that i just could not wait to buy, even after caining the advance for months.
