I was happy to see the Suns take the Lakers to game 7. If they can win it, that Suns/Clippers series will be fun too watch. It would be nice to see one of those teams make a run at the title.

That would be a great series. But I'm pullin for the Lakers because I want to see an L.A vs. L.A. series. Would love to see the Clippers knock the Lakers out of the playoffs. All those years they suffered. It'd be nice for the other L.A. squad to finally do something.

I wouldn't mind the Mavericks either, but not the Spurs. I'd be stomping on Tim Duncan's feet to eliminate them.

I hope Zac Taylor gets a cumquat-sized tumor on his taint.

FT, I give you props for knowing Nebraska's QB. I'm more concerned about Joba Chamberlain, Johnny Dorn or Brandom Buckman going down due to an injury right now. They are the stars along with Luke Gorsett for the highly ranked Husker Baseball team.

I thought JTT was Randy and I didn't think any of the Taylor kids on that show were named Zac.
Nebraska's Zac Taylor looks a little like Tom Hanks playing Forest Gump. I guess that is what you get when you are from Oklahoma.

As a long-time Kobe fan, i totally did not think the Suns would even come close in this series.

I will now be rooting for them.

i think that kobe kills a team, much like a lot of people feel like T. Owens, and his season got father than i thought that it would and I have to begrudgingly give him some respect.

well, i'm pretty sure that he just walked off the court without congratulating the Suns, so I'm back to ground zero and "fuck that guy" land.

Dallas made me money last year, so I'm picking them to win over San Antonio, for better or worse.

I think that is the most I have watched of the NBA playoffs so far. I couldn't believe how Phoenix would just watch the Lakers throw up crappy three point attempts in the second half without playing much defense.
I don't like Kobe either, but the dude gets fucked over anyway you slice it. If he scores 80 in a game and shoots the ball 40+ times and they lose, he's a ballhog who hurts his team. This game he tries to allow the Frontline to dominate and the entire team sucks it up.
He'll never have the same qualities Jordan had to make 2nd rate players into a championship team, but I think he does take alot more crap than he probably should.

I sort of hope the Clippers win, even though I really like Nash. I think Phoenix will just get ripped by the Spurs in the finals like last year if everything goes as I see it.

but the point is that, if he shoots the ball 40+ times and scores 80 and they lose, he is a ballhog that hurts the team. how else would you define ballhog?

I'd give him crap for being a ballhog if he shot something like 15-50 and only scored thirtysome points, In a game like tonight, if he scored 80 and shot over 50% from the field, it would have been alot closer.
I guess I'm just saying, when he attempts to be a selfless leader, he gets shit for not calling for the ball and taking control of the game.
He's not trying to score 80 a game, he's just trying to win. If he was just throwing up prayers to reach 30-40 each nigh, he'd be a ballhog. That's not what he was doing in game six and because of that criticism, he didn't take charge tonight.

no he's not. Anyone who is THAT hot in a game shouldnt think about anything but scoring. In that situation he is doing exactly the right thing.

in that situation they lose. you play to win the game, not to get your ass on the news.

Anyone know if Sketch is currently stateside? Because there was a dude who looks just like him sitting a few rows behind the basket that the Cavs shot on during the 2nd and 4th quarters today.

And I'll say nothing more of the lowly effort put in by my Pistons.
Ugh.

I guess that windbag Stephen A. Smith will have to eat his words now that the Cavs won a game.

why on earth do the Spurs keep switching off screens to leave Parker on Nowitzki? how retarded is that?

It wasn't THAT retarded - Dirk only made 3 shots all night. Unfortunately, Spooner decided that the cream puff Mavs deserved 50 fucking free throws, so they were able to stay ahead. The free throw disparity was pretty questionable tonight.

as opposed to other games where San Antonio goes to the line 50 times...

if that's a matchup that you want them to follow, have fun with it. If they hadn't fouled him half of those times he would have made the shots, but the other half of those trips to the line, you're right, were pretty suspect. Still, being aggressive in going to the rim usually pays off in the playoffs.

Unless your name is Shaq. This year, the refs decided that he is allowed to catch the ball, but if he turns around to shoot and elbows someone's face , it's a foul. Yeah I know everyone hates Shaq. I did too once. But damn, he catches the ball with 2 hands and turns around its a foul. He's 7'2" , he can't help it if the opponent's head is at his chest. This has been called at least 7 times on him in the playoffs.

I know that you're a Heat homer, but i'm going to agree with you anyway. it's like the refs decided that as his skills decline they're not going to give him the calls that they once did, which is kind of sad. if it wasn't a foul then then it shouldn't be one now.
