That's pretty much what I thought a few months ago. Still think it.

Sorry for not being able to share this when I first received it - it was very copy-protected (still is dammit!). Glad to hear that y'all are getting to hear it...absolutely one of my favorite records of the year. I think it's actually...a great American rock record, as silly as that may sound.

so to bump my own music discussion, this album is great.

i'm already calling it my number 2 of the year behind Drum's Not Dead. Their sound hasn't really changed but they've tried different things: "Brandy Alexander" "Louisana" for example, which are strange for them but actually pretty cool. There are more traditional Walkmen song and then there's what is the piece de resistance so far, "This Job Is Killing Me." It's so punky...it reminds me of how like "Pet Eunuch" throws off the pace on Clinic's "Walking With Thee" and it works so damn well. It just thrashes so hard.

Update:
1. Liars
2. Walkmen
3. Loose Fur
4. Belle & Sebastian
5. Sonic Youth

i love his voice, especially when he really starts wailing. this one wasn't even a grower like Alec Ounsworth for me, I just took to it right away.

It's great until he goes into the bono wail mode then it's finger-nails upon the glass for me. Love "Lost In Boston" but i can't get through "Louisiana".
