Is off the hook. This, I can dig on. My problems getting into "hip-hop" are well documented here...is this really even hipho though? How is this classified? What artists are similar to this guy, because this shit is ill.

I listened to that song over and over for a week, like a year ago. Then I started listening to a lot of other anticon stuff, and boom bip.

i'm trying to resist doing that so that i can still appreciate it. the way that i hardly ever listen to "crosseyed and painless" outside of the context of the album it's on so that it will remain my favorite song.

tell me more...anticon? boom bip? this means nothing to me.

Chase, go buy Why?'s album, Elephant Eyelash. He's a member of cLOUDDEAD.

Yeah, Why? is pretty similar. It's more electronicy than hip-hop, really.

Some of it reminds me of The Books.

You should check out Hymie's Basement, Fog and I think Why? It's on Lex and it's good.

You should check out Fog's solo work, particularly "Ether Teeth" and "Hummer".

I wasn't too crazy about 10th Ave Freakout. I found it boring.

It's not his best work, but his most consistent.

Slow down guys. Chase may actually be interested. "Dead Dogs Two" is the most acessible song from Ten.

cLOUDDEAD is more of an electronic group with collagist lyrics being "sung" from two guys who are into rap's vocal delivery. I will go on record to say that Ten is my favorite record from the past 5 years.

Chase, do you listen to much electronic music? If you like the "sound" of cLOUDDEAD, I suggest checking out Oddnosdam (the member of Anticon who produced both cLOUDDEAD records), Boards of Canada and like fancypants suggested, Boom Bip (cLOUDDEAD did a re-mix of his track "Cold Shoulders").

The band 13 & God mentioned here is doseone (aka Adam Drucker, the one with the nasally voice) from Themselves/cLOUDDEAD/Subtle + members of German electro-pop band The Notwist.

Go here to check out anticon., which is a label and loose collective of like-minded dudes. To me, the strongest releases have been from the Why? and doseone projects.

I've yet to hear anything by Fog, so I can't speak to his similarity to "Dead Dogs Two"
