Who else are appearing in the season finale?

Sonic Youth, Grant-Lee Phillips, Sparks...

There's someone else.

yes, it's Yo La Tengo.
Grant Lee Buffalo has been on the past 3 episodes.
They're always name-dropping bands.

I love Pernice Brothers, but this just silly. Maybe he'll make Luke finally turn his hat around the right way.

The writers/creators are huge music fans so this seems fitting. It's also their swan song.

The Palladino-Sherman team is leaving the show after this episode. They couldn't hammer out a deal with CW so they won't be writing the show next year.

I think this episode is going to be awesome in so many ways. Sooo excited for it.

Nah, don't feel bad. It's my favorite show too. Well besides Buffy.

Hrmm...I've never seen the show before. Didn't know it had such musical connections and a musically savvy fanbase.

Except for this season, which has been a pile of shit. Way to go, Amy Sherman-Palladino, thanks for ruining this show on your way out. I hope the new head-guy can pull this show back to what it once was, but after what I've read is happening tonight, I have very little hope for the show. This might be the one that pushes me over the edge. I haven't been too happy with how they've had the characters completely alter how they react to things in the last year (and two years if you count in Rory's ridiculously stupid storylines,) but after what looks to happen from all the spoilers I've seen, I might just be completely done with it.

Actually I think the way they're ending tonight is great. From what I've heard of it at least.

I fully support one of the possible spoilers.

Garant Lee Buffalo had the street-singer gig that it sounds like Pernice is taking over.

My favorite name drop was on an episode a couple weeks back; Lane's wedding, the Korean exchange student staying at Lane's mom's house had snuck out of the house wearing an Avril Lavigne t-shirt, when Lane comments on its lameness, the exchange student in her Korean accent...
"Avril Lavigne rocks, you such a snob, if it not Joy Division, you think it suck"

Gilmore Girls rulz!!!

I'm not sure if Lorelai's complete and utter destruction of her relationship with Luke, completely out of character, was what you'd known about, but it was what I'd read and knew and it still pissed me off last night. Amy Sherman-Palladino just thrust a giant middle-finger to WB and the fans with the final moments of last night's episode. This used to be an enjoyable show. I'm going to need some serious spoilerage next season to keep me interested - I need to know if this show is worth wasting my time on again, because I feel like I threw away 22 hours of my life this season.

Note to self: do not watch Amy Sherman-Palladino penned shows anymore.

I don't see it as a F You. I was thoroughly pleased by what happened at the end. I thought the whole relationship between the two had been the downfall of this season.

Lorelai is much more enjoyable when she's single and or screwing up a relationship. I think they turned Luke into a jackass the last few months and I'd much rather see her with Christopher.

Besides if rumors have been correct the last two years, Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson(Luke) actually don't get along well in real life. Call it the X-Files syndrome.

I thought it was good. and we don't actually KNOW if she slept with Chris or not.
Plus, even if she did, it doesn't mean she and Luke are over. I think Luke is being an ass too.

Seriously, if I could I'd beat Luke over the head with a stick. I've found him extremely annoying this whole season.

And I think they'll end up being over. And I heard a rumor a while back that the end of this season was going to have one of the women cheating on their man. So I think they did sleep together.

yeah, but even if she did cheat it doesn't mean they're over, you know? I read that Amy S-P said "everyone knows L and L belong together" although I prefer Christopher to Luke.

Any word on whether or not Veronica Mars is getting picked up by The CW, or whatever the hell that new WB/UPN merger is called? I'm desperate not to lose my namedropping capabilities!!!

np: Devo - "Space Junk"

We'll know for sure next week, but many think there was a hint in the episode that it will be. Duncan answers his phone and says, "CW?" Weidman on the other end says, "It's a done deal." That can't be a coincidence. Yet another reason why I love this show - clever-ass writers. What an awesome finale!

My random thoughts on the season. They took a perfectly good character in Luke and turned him into a spineless jellyfish this season. For him to just stand there and let Lorelai walk away was fucking rediculous. Amy and her mom have turned this guy into a blithering idiot. Her phone call to Luke after Amy's birthday party was infuriating. The writers had been teasing their fans with a Luke/Lorelai relationship at least since I've been watching; which I think is 4-seasons now, and probably for the whole series, to have it end in such an un-characteristic manner is as someone said; a slap in the face. Christopher bugs me and I would rather see Lorelai single for the last season, than start a relationship with him. I'll probably watch the first couple of episodes next season, but if character development keeps moving in the same direction, I'll give up on it early.

So how much is Sherman-Palladino responsible for the musical tone of the show? If that's gone too, I may not last trough even one of next season's episodes.
