For some reason I have a hard time getting into them. I love the song we've been had. However, I think it is the voice. I don't think it is bad, I just think it takes a lot of patience and getting used to. Like Doug Martsch's voice.

I will continue to listen to this, but it is not even in my top ten yet.

their albums are the perfect examples of growers...they take time but they kick serious ass.

I loved both Walkmen albums but I 've been crazy busy and haven't had time to listen to anything in about a month. So hopefully I'll get some time as I make the drive to Port Shitty this weekend.

People should be fine with a megaupload link, unless it has expired or something. YSI just seems to be the more preferred way to send files.

done.

Just keeps delivering. Makes it seem like Bows + Arrows, which some considered transitional and not as good, was a great step. They are just doing it right and have kept the best parts of that sound while at the same reintegrating some of the dronier elements of their debut.

"Emma, Get Me A Lemon" "This Job Is Killing Me" and "Lost In Boston" all kick serious ass. Oh, and add "Tinleytown" to that list. The "tinleytown", "this job is killing me" 1-2 punch is off the chain.

I finally got around to listening to this yesterday. I dunno, its ok.

Dudes voice can get on my nerves after awhile.

Good potential though.

I still haven't heard this. That Filter article made me really not want to hear it. I'm looking forward to being proven wrong.

Been giving this album a couple serious listenings lately and I just can't get into it. Not only does the singer sound like Dylan screaming but most of the songs are pretty poor, IMO. This is a step down from their last album.

Louisiana and This Job Is Killing Me are okay but that's about it.

So far I'm disappointed. On alot of the songs he sounds like a drunk Dylan who's out of tune for Dylan. I agreed with the Pitchfork review this morning. Maybe it'll grow but it ain't lookin' good.

that's actually a well-written review for pitchfork. i agree with it, but i think that overall it's not dull and it doesn't really blend together for me...i find the songs to be quite distinctive.

he's dead right about "louisiana" being the only one that uses the music to lend to its atmosphere...the rest do sort of kinda sort the same but in this case i don't think that's a badthing.

For those of us who actually want to buy the album, does anybody know when it comes out? I'm guessing tomorrow since Pitchfork reviewed it today, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I haven't heard it yet, but Bows and Arrows is one of my favorite albums of the last several years. So, I'm not expecting this to top that. But I'm glad to see some favorable reviews.

If this is the case, I'll have to check it out. I never got into their first too very much.
