Anyone know if Sketch is currently stateside? Because there was a dude who looks just like him sitting a few rows behind the basket that the Cavs shot on during the 2nd and 4th quarters today.

And I'll say nothing more of the lowly effort put in by my Pistons.
Ugh.

Been back in the (edit) U.K. for three weeks, hoss. Besides, the NBA doesn't do much for me.

It's not only Shaq or in the NBA, offensive foul calls are on the rise in nearly every league in the world. It's really annoying.

It may seem pretty obvious, but I'm still going to say that whoever wins Game 4 of tonight's SA-DAL matchup is going to win the series. Of course, it'll be much more definite if the Mavs go up 3-1 than if the series is tied 2-2, but even in the latter scenario, I cannot imagine the Mavs winning 2 of 3 when two are in SA and they've already won one there earlier in the series.

Though I'll definitely be bummed if the Spurs lose this series, I'll at least be glad that I can root for the Mavs throughout the rest of their run. If you've gotta lose, it's best to lose to your second-favorite team.

I think I've watched a total of 10 minutes of the playoffs so far. Like Sketch, the NBA doesn't do much for me. If the Hawks were in it I might be a LITTLE more inclined to watch but, alas, we know that ain't happenin.

That being said, I'm pulling for the Clippers. THEY'RE GONNA SHOCK THE WORLD!!!!

If there are fans that can feel my pain as a Hawks fan. It's Clippers fans.

i think that cleveland really might win this game, which i can't believe. Detroit just doesn't have anyone that can keep lebron from doing whatever he wants, and even though his shot's not falling, you can tell that detroit knows that they can't stop him. This kid shouldn't be this far along in his development.

I'm glad Cleveland is now ahead, hopefully they can pull this out and even the series. I'm not a huge Cavs fan, especially after Lebron got away with two horrible travelling violations on game winning shots during the last series, but anyone but Detroit and San Antonio is still my motto.
That said Cleveland just committed a flagrant foul.

Well, it was a nice run while it lasted...

The only way I'll be bitter about the Mavs having won the Spurs series is if they have a letdown in the next round and blow it against the Suns or Clippers. They'd better not have shot their wad slaying what they percieve to be the only dragon standing in their way.

Yeah, SA is in serious trouble.

By the way, since when do refs call hand check fouls on the final possession of the game? Dallas deserved their OT victory thanks to Duncan's miss at the buzzer, but why oh why did Dirk get that call on a non-foul on Bowen 20 feet from the basket w/ 8 seconds left? Artest is right (for once)...the NBA is too soft these days.

David Stern was sitting courtside, and when the foul was called, Bowen yelled, "THAT WAS TERRIBLE!" while glaring right at the commish. Expect a massive fine forthcoming. Apparently, Cuban also shouted at Stern throughout the game about poor officiating. I love how Barkley immediately brought up how bad the refs have been after the game. They've been terrible both ways, though, so I can't say that's what's cost the Spurs the series. If I had to pick one thing, it's a lack of timely rebounding, and Popazit getting his ASS coached off by Avery. It'll be interesting to see how ol' Craterface fares in a couple of years when he no longer has Duncan's coattails to ride.

FT's Dire Spur-related Predictions:
1. Tim Duncan will never again score 30 points in a game.
2. Next season, the Spurs will win no more than 50 games.
3. In three years, maybe even two, they will return to the lottery.

to me, they're just afflicted with a case of OLD. other than parker, everyone on their team was the methusula of whichever team they played for last, hobbled or by injury, or just slow as Rasho. Eventually they'd be unable to use their experience to cover that, and it looks like my days of making money on the mavericks are going to continue.

I agree about the old. They're pretty much Tony Parker and a bunch of AARP members. Ginobili's nightly injuries age him an extra decade or two.

Now you've jinxed it FT. Now the Spurs will play like last year's championship team, just to spite your grim predictions.

The Terry suspension is a little bogus in my opinion.

I know that you're a Heat homer, but i'm going to agree with you anyway. it's like the refs decided that as his skills decline they're not going to give him the calls that they once did, which is kind of sad. if it wasn't a foul then then it shouldn't be one now.

Thanks for agreeing crack man. Obviously you are an educated sports fan.

I'm kinda torn on who i want to win between the Cavs @ Pistons. On one hand i want revenge on Detroit and the other side of me wants homecourt against the Cavs. I still think Detroit will win the next 2 games but if Cleveland pulls it off , TV ratings will skyrocket with a Lebron-Wade match-up in the East Finals. This might turn out to be a glimpse of what to expect for the next 3 years for the East Finals.

Hmm. I'd wait to see what happens tonight in the Dal/SA game, and that LA/Pho series is no slouch either.
