Can't get enough of this band. She has a sweet voice and they rock hard, especially live, IMHO.

totally! saw them when they toured with the mystery jets. both bands were excellent.

the singer reminds me of karen oh with a guitar. she makes the coolest faces.

no, totally forgot about it. but i did catch art brut last night and wednesday. i've somehow woken up with bruises this morning, but that's what i get for taking the center of the stage last night. totally worth it though. eddie actually crowd surfed last night. their best show so far. that is until their next one.

Are they from France, par chance?

"Noisette" is the name of my fav coffee in Francey, refering to the higher proportion of coffee to milk, I think, and to it being darker.

Brit band but yeah apparently named after the coffee. Although i'm sure it usually has chocolate in it. Also a favorite is with whiskey added.

That singer is in an awkward position.

A noisette is a reugular-sized coffee with milk. A cafe au lait is pretty much the same but in a big-ass cup, almost like a soup bowl.

a cafe au lait is coffee with steamed milk, unlike a latte or cappuccino, which is steamed milk with expresso shots.

The first time I saw this band (opened for Tom Vek), I was VERY unimpressed. There were a couple of songs that I liked, but overall would've not paid again to see them. I guess it didn't help that when I had gone to the restroom, I heard the singer making some god awful howling noises while in there. I later learned she was warming her vocal cords. Anyway...fast forward to the Mystery Jets' gig and saw 'em again. I was much better impressed and liked a few more of their songs.

I did...I do. I tell ya the first time was rather cool being that his album wasn't even out yet and he only had a shortlist of songs to perform. Good show. It was the second time I saw him, holy hell! Completely different set in which he played the drums -- front center stage. A lot more animated and a lot harder. I loved it!

I think i caught Tom Vek on probably his biggest gig at that time, nobody had really heard of him, i thought he choked but i still picked up his album and loved it. I really want to check him out again. V.interesting what he gets upto next. Good gig though, Doherty came on stage to play a few tunes with Coxon and i came so close to hitting him with my beer can.

You should've shown him a crackpipe, that would've gotten him offstage. Ha!

PS -- I absolutely love Coxon! I have a great photo with him where he looks like Elvis Costello's lil' brother.

I saw this band open for TV on the Radio on Friday.

Who the hell enjoys this shit? They were fucking awful...too much bad drama queen singing, too contrived, terrible songwriting (one song had this proggy "bridge to canada" chorus and it made me want to gouge out my eyes)

I see they're opening for Bloc Party and I'm sure there's some more TVOTR dates left...I highly reccomend getting there late.

Fucking loved Tom Vek when I saw him in '05 @ Knitting Factory in NYC. We Have Sound was in my Top 5 of 2005.

By reading F**K You Dave's post, it looks like I didn't miss anything by missing Noisettes opening for TVOTR Saturday night.

I've only heard a few songs by The Noisettes and only really liked one of them though the recording sounded like garbage.

I enjoyed Tom Vek when I saw him though he had a bunch of trouble with the sound at the club. Didn't he join a band with one of the dudes from Test Icicles or something?

I saw them open for TVOTR last night in Chapel Hill and actually thought they were awesome. The lead singer has a lot of charisma and they did rock quite a bit when they wanted to.
