What I meant was, it won't be Poopoo Bear's adventures in Tickle Town, starring Steve Buscemi and Scarlet Johansen, animated by Robert Rodriguez, with special guest scenes in live action film by Spike Jonze with a SDTK of remixed Joy Division songs remixed by Danger Mouse.

Its a popcorn movie about a run-of-the-mill mystery gussied up with some religious overtones...you know, The Firm, with Jesus as unbilled co-star.

I just think its funny that this movie is downright offensive to a lot of people around here, because you know, some of the proles got and read a book.

I agree with this sentiment Senator, but can't help wonder then why you can't see anything entertaining in an Alexander Payne flick (Election, Sideways)?

Eh, I thought it was OK. A little rushed in the beginning and a little long in the end. But overall good.

Why so much vitriol over this movie? Are you guys going to debate the artisitic value of X-men 3, too?

Dan Brown does start off the book by saying all the history in the book is true. i don't think X-Men claims to be the true history of the world.

It's a good book, and yes, at times I'm a dumbass, but not because I've read a book. Poor amgl.

Just saw it.

Actually stayed pretty true to the book. It was a bit long, but if they cut much out it would just come off horribly.

It's not this horrible crappy film the fuckhead critics claim it to be. For a summer thriller it's pretty good. Just a bit boring in parts.

The storytelling scenes where they flash back to the early days of christ and the Middle Ages were pretty cool and keep it from being horribly boring.

The ending was a bit fucked up though.

And Dan Brown doesn't claim ALL the history was true in the beginning Jewels. I just finished re-reading the book two days ago. He mentions that certain aspects are true and others are embellished upon for storytelling purposes. He makes that distinction pretty clear.

Holy screeching grinding fuck. I just saw this too.

The "fuckhead critics" are right - it's hilariously bad. Rotten on every level. A failure in every direction. As a thriller it sucks bag - there isn't a moment of suspense in the whole thing. As a mystery it's convoluted and laughable. As entertainment it's moronic. Dumber than "dumb entertainment" has any right to be. I'm actually shocked by the monumental stupidity of this endeavor.

There isn't a two minute stretch in the entire movie that makes any sense whatsoever. I'd go into more detail (ie: the comedy of the albino supermonk, the nonsense of the plot between Sir Ian and his butler, the very question of why the fuck this Robert Langdon character was dragged into this in the first place, and onwards and outwards from the first frame of film) but a) I'd risk "spoiling" this piece of shit, and b) it isn't worth it.

And btw - I expected NOTHING from this. I never read the book. My admission was free. I've got nothing against Tom Hanks or Ron Howard. This. Just. Sucked.

My friend and I both enjoyed it. In the book did they mention the curator WASN'T Sophie's grandfather?

She looked damn good in every shot!

These comments from you don't surprise me in the least.

Now if you actually said you liked it, that would surprise me.

i tried reading this a while back and just couldn't get through it. everyone keeps telling me to try again because mary magdalen has been a thin theme through a series of large drawings i've been working on for the past 3-4 years.

i don't know. it just didn't hold my interest. i'm hoping the ex takes the kids because i'd rather not go. no hating or anything just kind of blah.

and audrey tatou is a poor man's juliette binoche.

This I understand. And a bad movie I understand. The instant hate because middle class white people liked the book, I didn't really get.

Kinda how I feel about Alexander Payne, Marco

And this whole Jesus kids thing ain't news to me. I've read a million conspiracy books, so if the plot doesn't move, I guess it might suck, we'll see tomorrow, I guess.

Dan Brown is such a bad, horrible writer. It's like a blockbuster movie contained in a novel, written by a romance writer.
