Ok so not everyone will have an opinion, but Im interested in knowing what children's albums people recommend. My wife picked up TMBG's 'Here Come the ABCs' and it isnt all that bad for children's music (I was going crazy listening to the crap that the kids toys played). So Im looking for other albums people recommend-- I already will probably pick up:

No! (TMBG)
For The Kids (various)
For the Kids too (various)

i don't think i ever bought a kid specific cd for my kids.
some of their favorite cd's were;
-the soundtrack from the wizard of oz
-peter and the wolf
-tmbg's flood
-disney's beauty and the beast, little mermaid
-the sound of music

i also made them mixes. i couldn't stand raffi or the wee sing stuff.
why would i want to hear wee sing do abc when the jackson five's was so much better? i guess it all comes down to what i could tolerate.

Jerry Garcia/David Grisman - Not for Kids Only

Pete Seeger - American Folk, Game and Activity Songs for Children

avoid Barry Louis Polisar (the guy's voice sounds like a fork on a chalkboard)

A co-worker was telling me yesterday that her almost one year old daughter will totally brighten up and start to "dance" whenever the commercial with Dylan' "Times They Are A-Changin'" comes on.

Seriously though, I don't know. When my friends daughter was 4 or 5 years old, she loved when we played Cats in the Cradle and Weezer's Buddy Holly.

I'd make a mix of all the Pancake Mountain songs I could find on Itunes or any download service.
Schoolhouse rock and any classic Sesame Street record is great too.
Maybe one of the Simpson's albums too.

"Shotgun Willie sits around in his underwear" was one of my all time favorites.

yeah, the doo wop and oldies station was always on.

i think the only kids rekkid we has was "free to be, you and me" and some Sesame Street which was more skit based than song based.
