Yo, can we remove the "Obner Want Lists" and "YSI Etiquette" as stickies?

Also, I'll leave it up to discussion but we could sticky OPA's "Rolling Top 10 of 2006" thread since it gets a lot of action and updates...

On second thought, if you sticky the Top 10 thread, I'll probably never read or post in it again so just the removal will be fine.

i don't even think the purchases list is necessary. Don't we get a good enough idea of everyone's purchases from the rest of the threads?

It seems like more of a look-at-me-i-buy-shit venture than one that everyone actually reads.

I know it takes work, and heck, i'm not gonna do it, but someone should amalgamate all the upcoming album releases into one thing, and put it somewhere.

Actually, if we really want to change things up, I'd suggest this:

Upcoming album releases should move up top, near the charts, and formated like a searchable webpage (again, more like the charts.)
Gig List and Purchase Thread and Want Lists should be a part of our user profiles. This type of ongoing list never worked well in a thread format anyway, and I bet a more people would take advantage of them if it were easier to use. (myself included)
YSI etiquette should be unstickied. Isn't there an Announcement option, as well as a sticky? Wisdom from our holy leader should still be stickied at the top, with either option. If there is only one thing stuck to the first page, I'd be more likely to notice changes and read Haq's administrative posts.

I barely remember that there are other forums, let along stickies, mostly because I'm doing other stuff on the newsroom computers through the day and just leave obner open on an older computer that's not used for news stuff.

exactly. which is why we should eliminate the etiquette and wishlist stickies and keep the rest.

Not me, I post a new, revised list everytime. That's how I've secretly built up my post count over the years.

Just saw this, being a sorry nigga. I think mutty's idea is great - just an extra couple textboxes in your profile that you can update without anyone else having to look at your sticky. Is there a downside to this idea?

I cant see any downside to it.

I say unsticky the "Upcoming Album Releases" thread. I don't read it at all now but, if it was a normal thread that showed up at the top when there was a new post, I might.

I also admittedly don't understand the point of the Purchases thread. But that doesn't stop me from posting in it and keeping my entry up to date.
