This idiot tried to tell Cap'N and I a couple weeks ago that The Doors wrote Gloria (G-L-O-R-I-A). He kept insisting and insisting that it was.

So now I get an email from the guy, weeks later with a link to the lyrics on some website saying, "by the Doors".

I mean if you're gonna go out of your way to try and prove me wrong. At least have the brains to do your research.

Took me literally 1 minute to prove to this guy via AMG that it was written by THEM!, fronted by Van the Man.

Look into your heart.

They do a great version of it, though.

Oh I know. The guy emailed me their version. I bet he felt so good when he sent that off.

"You music assholes, I know that The Doors wrote this song. I'll show you guys."

A friend of a friend was insistent that Sheryl Crow is Canadian. I'm not a fan of SC at all but I knew she was from the States. So sure enough I look it up on Wikipedia, e-mail her the link, and she doesn't respond back.

I thought U2 wrote Gloria. How disappointing...

Haha. Springfield is playing the "Summer Concert Series" at a local ampitheater that my parents always buy season tickets for.

Van wrote the bulk of the song, but I'm guessing The Lizard King added such notable embellishments as WRAP YOUR LEGS AROUND MY NECK, etc.

You're listening to the wrong songs.

Tracks like "Who Scared You," "You're Lost Little Girl," "W.A.S.P.," "Spanish Caravan," "Five To One," "Not To Touch The Earth," "I Can't See Your Face In My Mind." "Unhappy Girl," "Crawling King Snake, "Twentieth Century Fox," "Roadhouse Blues" and quite a few more are pretty great.

...and "Summer's Almost Gone", "Wintertime Love", "Love Street","Soul Kitchen".

I used to hate them too. Too many cheesy High School hippes listening to them. But man, he's a sweet crooner. Wicked stuff. It's really great music.

I can totally see why people hate them so I've given up suggesting they try hearing this or that. Waiting for the Sun might be one of the worst albums I've ever heard and that stupid Oliver Stone movie even made me hate them for a couple of days afterwards. I still love most of their other stuff; The Doors was among the first cds I ever bought and still listen to regularly.
