did anyone see this brittney murphy movie? some critics absolutely loved it, others hated it, but they all claim that it takes some sort of dark twist at the end. unfortunately, i got about 20 minutes into it before i had to shut it off out of sheer boredom. i don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but can someone pm me what happens in it? i want to know what this ending is, but i don't think that i could bring myself to rent it again.

yeah we've been doing this too.

Throwing into our queue everything we'd be too embarassed to go see in the theatre.

That's why I got Netflix in the first place - I was buying too many DVDs (mostly prev. viewed) without seeing them first. As a person who owns stealing harvard and gave away a copy of (shudder) underworld, I can tell you that Netflix is sometimes best used for this purpose...

For example, I probably would've bought "Karate Bearfighter" starring Sonny Chiba if I had seen it in a store, but now I've seen it and can judge pricewise if it's worth it to me....

I mean, I never would've seen Harold and Kumar if it weren't "free" (a.k.a. had to pay for it individually) - though I'm not sure if that would've been better. However, the eventual buying of the Ludicrousfest which is Walking Tall owes itself directly to Netflix....

i'm about to watch S.W.A.T.

i'm balancing that out with The Twilight Samurai though.

and i just watched The Blind Swordsman Zatoichi which was pretty awesome though the digital blood was a little distracting.

I was on Netflix, but now prefer the blockbuster in store. It allows me more immediate satisfaction and the ability to match my mood with the movie I want to see. The only drawback is the lack of anonymity when renting total crap films. For example last night when my wife wanted to watch The Real Cancun. I can feel the shame as I check out the likes of Troy and Walking Tall.

Once I have realy caught up on my moviewatching I will probably go back to Netflix. But I will do the 8 movies at a time.

People care about what the guy working at the Blockbuster counter is going to think about their taste in movies?!

Pussies.

i was hoping for something darker, like she doesn't get the guy in the end after she does anal in a truck stop or something. i guess i should have read imdb first.

heh. I was going to propose my own ending where in a zany twist at the end she calls all of the male contacts in the "black book" and has a gang bang but during the middle of it she realizes that she really loves him and stops.

She realizes that the only "book" that matters is the book of love.
