there are more than five songs on singles goes steady, correct?

i may have to go with "what do i get?" with "love you more" and "everybody's happy nowadays" as runners-up.

I voted for 'Ever Fallen in Love', but it was close with 'Everybody's Happy Nowadays'.

I picked "Harmony in My Head", but I could also have gone with "Everybody's Happy Nowadays".

I've only listened to a few things of theirs other than Singles and each of those only once. I really liked Spiral Scratch and A Different Kind of Tension. I don't really think they're as much of a singles band as a lot of people insist. In fact, some of the songs on Singles kind of annoys me (and no, "Noise Annoys" isn't one of them).

One of the biggest mysteries to me about people around here is why so many people love Singles to death but don't explore the buzzcocks catalog further.

Singles is not a greatest hits package. Its mostly stuff that didn't make any of the studio albums, and its not their best album IMO. I'd give that distinction to Another Music In A Different Kitchen.

And all five of these songs are better than anything on Singles:

I Believe
Fast Cars
No Reply
Raison d'Etre
I Need

np: Joao Gilberto "The Legendary Joao Gilberto"

I like "Why Can't I Touch It" the best. Glorious.

These are the same people who think Green Day are really good and have contributed something new and exciting.
