can we assume that something has crashed on the island now with this latest "system failure"?

1st one - flight 815

2nd one - the food drop

wonder what this one brought down?

Was it the door of the hatch that came barreling out of the sky and nearly killed Claire and Bernard?

Also, what exactly did Desmond do? He was initiating the emergency override or something, right? But what does that entail? Does that just completely implode the entire hatch and elminate the problem once and for all? He seemed to be under the impression that he was going to die. And we're led to believe Eko and Locke are dead now, but I'm really doubting that.

And I like how the only reason the Others wanted Hurley was for him to be the messenger boy. Oh useless, unwanted Hurley.

Okay, I was just thinking about it some more because this show leaves you with so much to discuss and think about.

The Others have repeatedly referred to themselves as being "good" and saying they only wanted the "good people" from the plane crash. But they let Hurley go. If any of the survivors were to be considered really good, it would have to be him. Even when he was still under the belief that Henry had killed Libby, he didn't want a gun because he wasn't interested in revenge at all. He was only going to help Michael get Walt back.

And I totally forgot Sun was pregnant until tonight.

And I was really expecting a Rousseau appearance at some point. Something is really sketchy about her. Even if everything she told Sayid about how she came to be on the island is true, she still disappears into the jungle for weeks at a time. What does she eat? There's no real wild animals on the island or apparent fruit trees. She appeared to have deserted the little hut where she had been living once Sayid escaped so where does she sleep and live? More importantly, what does she do all day? Why hasn't she found the Others? She's always seemed to be even more determined to get Alex back than Michael was to get Walt. Even with their superior knowledge of the island, you'd think she'd have found them by now. Or asked the Losties for help. It's just very strange.

Oh, and I'm completely predicting Alex Rousseau to free Kate and take off with her back to the beach for help.

I think that the clock controlled some sort of containment for this electromagnetic anomaly that is present on the island. The button-pushing prevented this containment system from failing and letting the electromagneticity go free. I'm guessing that they were looking for a brief signal from it to allow for the food drops, but instead there was this massive explosion, I guess that's what that was, when Desmond destroyed the containment system.

What this means for the island now, I have no idea - Dharma/Hanso and Widmore are supposedly tied together (since we've seen Widmore's named stamped on some of the Dharma supplies, so why it's so difficult for Widmore's daughter to find this island, I don't know.) I'm guessing that whatever those two guys were doing, it was not in order to rescue anyone.

Does anyone believe:
1. That either Eko and/or Locke are dead?
2. That we've seen the last of Michael and Walt? What an easy off for the writers if so.

But, in general, WOW - they really made up for last years lame-o finale big time.

Michael and Walt will appear next season, but they aren't regulars any longer. I'll trade Desmond for Michael any day as a regular.

Duuuuude...why is Charlie being completely evasive about what happened in the hatch? He doesn't seem particularly concerned about the electromagnetic phenomena that was going on once he returned to the camp or the fact the others didn't get out.

Yeah, that's a good point. It could be shock or something else. It actually seems symptomatic of everyone on the island i.e. Eko and Locke not really mentioning the existance of the 'pearl' hatch until it's too late or Kate delaying to tell everyone about the medical experiments in that other hatch.

Hurley's crazy bald friend was named David wasn't he? Libby was in the ward with Hurley so maybe she was visiting her imaginary husband, or was he imaginary?

1. I believe at least one, if not both, are dead.

2. If Walt's gone, they've got some explaining to do about his super powers but they can easily take care of that with some flash-back episodes about what they did to Walt when they took him. It could be the end for Michael but Walt needs to at least appear in a back story or two before we're done with him.

This episode rivals the series premire for best yet if you ask me. I loved it.

What about the look that Jack and Kate exchanged at the very end? Right before the hoods were placed over their heads, Jack looked at Kate and she slowly blinked once at him. Remember, Jack stated that he had a plan to the others when they were informed of Michael's setup. Wonder what the plan is...

Charlie's vindictive and spiteful for a passive guy. Locke beat him up and humiliated him. Eko treated him like a lapdog acolyte. What he really wanted was to belong with someone the way he used to with the church and the way he was with his brother. He probably thinks he did his part to help Eko & John but now that Claire is coming back around, he thinks let them fend for themselves.

He's a needful man, but a bitter one. Resents being thought of as "poor little Charlie." And loathes being ordered around without genuine gratitude returning. Also, he's probably still pissed off that everyone believes he was using.

I knew he looked familiar. His character makes more sense now.

When Desmond was pulled in after his shipwreck, weren't there several dudes in yellow suits coming to get him? Or was that just the gay video effect they used on that part that made it look that way? Also, I thought Desmond's love story was pretty annoying, but I guess it'll be important down the line. And I think that Whitmore chick is working independently of her family. She knows about the island and thinks that might be where Desmond disappeared to, but she didn't know exactly where it was.

Great episode, with a few minor awkward patches. I'm 99% sure Locke isn't dead, and I doubt they would have killed off Eko yet. I'm betting there wasn't even a real "explosion" when Desmond pulled the switch, just some kind of massive eletromagnetic discharge thingy. Desmond might've been killed because he was at ground zero, and I just got the feeling he wasn't going to be a regular on the show.

Yeah, Charlie has had it in for Locke ever since John kicked his ass. And he tried to save Eko but Eko shoved him toward the door and went back for John so he probably feels that it was out of his hands at that point. Not to mention the fact that he tried to convince both of them not to use the dynamite, but neither would listen.

I don't think Locke or Eko will actually be dead. That would be too much. You might as well have the Others execute Jack, Kate and Sawyer then too. They will be beaten to all hell, though. Cut and bruised and lying at death's door. Desmond might be dead. It's hard to say.

And yeah, it looked like there were three or four guys grabbing Desmond from the beach. But what's with the radiation suits if they really serve no purpose? I mean Desmond's partner took it off and walked around in the clear air without it when he followed him. So if they serve no purpose, then what? It's all for show? They wouldn't have them lying around just in case somebody should shipwreck on the island and they could play mindgames with them.

The other guys in suits were due to Desmond's sight being messed up after he washed up on the beach. There was only Kelvin. And Kelvin only wore the suit to fool Desmond into staying put while he fixed the yacht. Then he was going to ditch Desmond in the hatch.

Kelvin never thought the island was contaminated. It was an act to make Desmond paranoid.

Which could all be false, of course.

1) This Libby crap is all too strange. I think she's much more important than we now know.

2) Where's Sayid?

3) Will Michael's guilt bring him back to rescue?

4) Now that the override of the electromagnetic containment has been done, how will the island be affected and will it even be special.

5) What in the world was the deal with the ruins of the humong statue with only a foot with four toes left?

There's more, but this is what I ponder most now.

2) He went to the north end of the island where he thought Michael was leading them. That was miles from where the Others actually were.

5) Didn't it only have four toes to begin with? The Others may actually be cartoon characters.

No, I meant left of the statue, not toes that were left.
Yeah, I know where we last saw him, but does he figure things out and get to the wharf before they load up Jack et al?

Right. You're full of shit.

My guess is that the wharf is not far from Sayyid's signal, which was probably not far from The Others' supposed camp. My guess is Sayyid has an eye on the wharf, and knows exactly what's up. Or maybe he's on the sailboat and tracking or intercepting Michael and Walt. Wherever he is, he's fucking shit up.

Good lard. 32 pages on this? Wow.

I've never watched this show before, the previews (or whatever they're called) for this make it look so budget.

Do yah'll really like it?

(honest question)
