Have an illicit affair with the accused, whether it be male, female, hermie, or tranny. You'll get your own MOW. *

Yeah I got to do some reading, get out of the office, and was paid $15 for my trouble. Fortunately I wasn't used. Coulda sucked if I had to come back for a week.

Is it me or does it feel like the dregs of society when you go in for jury duty? I've only done it once but man. Terribly cramped room, bad fake wood walls, bad coffee, nobody wants to be there, and I have to listen to every assholes cell phone conversation.

I was called a couple of weeks ago -- didn't have to go in once. Whew!

Does Hawaii have a system where you call the night before to see if you've been selected? That's the only plus California has. And it's a maximum of one week service.

Same here.

Hopefully I won't be selected but I will definitely bring reading material.

My wife knew about this, and when I got called, she coached me. First off, it was easy, because the defendant was a hotty within my age group, so the prosecution immediately dismssed me on the grounds of boner mind control.

I was selected for the jury of a car accident case the day after I was rear-ended while driving into work. You should have seen the people who were rejected.

I've been twice.

First time they struck a deal before the jury selection.

Next I was picked for a car accident lawsuit. During the jury selection , the lawyers will ask how you feel about certain things that the case will be about. If they ask you how you feel about the police, just say you had bad experiences with them. In my case they asked how we felt about Insurance companies. So , of course the first 3 people said they didn't like them. When I said the same thing, the judge got pissed and told us to stop trying to get out of jury duty. So, I was picked and we awarded a 28 year old lady a nice lump sum when she suffered permanent back damage when a 70 something year old couple smashed her from behind.

It was probably one of the few times I wished I was at work than taking the day off. Soo friggin boring. And here's the kicker. When I got home on the final day, I noticed my front door wide open and immediately knew what happened. Yep, I got robbed. So, yeah , I hate jury duty.

I got called for jury duty once. When they let us out for a half hour lunch break, I decided to fuck it all and just go home.

A few weeks later I got a letter from them thanking me for my service, and my small check. I guess I wasn't picked.

I got the King's County juror questionnaire in the mail today. I think I'd be kind of excited for jury duty, but you know, I'm in law school.
