Anybody watch this over the weekend? There were some REALLY questionable picks (I like Shrek and all, but there is NO WAY it is the #3 funniest movie ever!), and some shocking omissions (no Wet Hot American Summer or Meatballs, leaving an enormous gap in the summer camp genre).

I don't have any qualms with the top 2, but there are way too many true classics ranked down in the 50s and 60s. They actually ranked Best in Show higher than This is Spinal Tap. BLASPHEMY!!! And in the Sandler canon, they managed to completely leave off his finest work (The Waterboy), while ranking The Wedding Singer at #8...that's RIDICULOUS!

Billy Madison is still by far my favorite sandler.
The Wedding Singer is a fun movie, but it's more romantic than comedy.

i like how AFI's number one comedy of all time is number 82 here.

i wonder how long people will find Napolen Dynamite funny.
not that it's not fun and a decent watch, but i don't see that having much shelf life.

Rocketing up the charts of "The World's 100 Most Pathetic Lists". No one associated with this project should ever work in entertainment again.

What is with the love for this movie? Seriously not funny. The outtakes on the DVD were far funnier than the movie itself. From people who were responsible for The State, which was hilarious, this was a pile of shit.

I thought the exact opposite. Hated The State but thought this movie was funny.

I didn't realize no comedies were made before 1962.

WHAS is funny, IMO and should certainly be on the list.

School of Rock shouldn't be in the top 10,000 funniest movies. It was the dumbest fucking movie I have ever seen. I hated it.

South Park? no way. Maybe Team America, but southpark. That's incorrect.

I thought South Park was funnier than Team America, but not by much. Neither of them should be on that list though.

Any such list that does not include The Party, is simply wrong by default.

Is there really not one Marx Brothers movie on that list?

Is Some Like it Hot also MIA?

One movie that always gets overlooked is What's Up Doc

Stupid, stupid list. I wish I never looked at this thread.

oh yeah, that was AFI's number one.
Tootsie was number two

although i don't think "some like it hot" is all that funny.
