KATE MOSS and Johnny Depp will hook up again to star in a biopic of the life of INXS singer Michael Hutchence, according to the latest rumours. According to a report in The Daily Express, director Nick Egan has enrolled Depp to play Hutchence, who was found dead in a Sydney hotel room in 1997, and Moss to take the role of the rock star's then girlfriend Paula Yates. "Johnny was asked if it would be a deal breaker for him if Kate was cast," a source tells the paper. "He said, 'Not as far as I'm concerned.' He figures there's been enough water under that bridge. Obviously [Egan] is hoping there's still enough chemistry between them that will translate to the screen. It has been claimed she never got over him and in the film they'll have to appear deeply in love."

I wonder how explicit this will be.

They should just splice in the motel room scene from An Officer and a Gentleman for the film's climax (so to speak).

I imagine Vanessa Paradis would have to be one strong woman to let a love scene between the two of them happen.

I just find it hard to believe that they'd cast a crackhead model who's never acted in a proper film with the possible exception of the Pete Doherty instructional video on "How One Destroys A Career in Record Time".

Well, this biopic will at least be better than Dogs In Space.

So which INXS song title/lyric will they use for the film name?

Shine Like It Does?

First man to make me want to faint: Hutchence

Current man who could make me faint: Depp (and/or David Sylvian)

I've never been much of a movie star/rock star freak. But those two guys are pretty much the beginning and the end of my celeb crushes.

I'm going with:

Devil Inside

or

Never Tear Us Apart

Agree with the above. Also...

Elegantly Wasted
Not Enough Time
Strange Desire
We Are The Vegetables

this is going to be an extraordinary film.

vanessa is so chill, she's not worried. they're just pacsed, it's probably an open relationship.

Being a Shabooh Shoobah fan, "Soul Mistake" gets my vote... But "Never Tear us Apart" is the no brainer....

And Depp is perfect to play the part. The guy probably regularly practices auto erotic asphyxation.... To complete the cast, Bob Geldoff needs to sign on.

edit: oh yea, throw in Francis Bean Cobain as the kid.

Any predictions on who will play other key parts in Hutchence's life?

Kylie Minogue? I hope they include the scene where Hutchence inducts her into the Mile High Club. Apparently they asked for a blanket.

Nick Cave?

Bob Geldof?

I think it's too soon to make this film. With most of the characters (other than the main two) still in their 'prime', or only slightly past it in real life, I reckon potential libel is gonna limit what they do with the movie.

Thought of saying that, but Michael wasn't blonde. :)

That's actually my fav INXS song. I prefer one of the remixes though, not the X version.

Agreed.

I want to see this for Depp but I think it's going to be as cheesy as the made for TV "Def Leppard Story".
