Saw them last Thurs. in MPLS w/ SunnO))). The spastic drummer was a good laugh, but that double-neck bass/guitar was pure hilarity - kind of hard to overlook something you'd typically see in a Whitesnake video. The Pink material was rocking, but we were a bit disappointed they didn't play more than two tracks off of Akuma. Nevertheless, the show was high energy & bone-rattling LOUD - the frequency was damn-near therapeutic like a SharperImage massage chair. So relieved I took my earplugs. SunnO))) was a massive disappointment. They brought their C-game so we left mid-set.

SunnO))) really isn't very good, IMO.

But I really wish I could see Boris.

yeah, boris was pretty great in chicago last friday. and it seemed like a third of the room cleared out after them. shiv's assessment is dead-on, except for missing white gloves and a 5-foot japanese girl shredder.

SunnO)))'s been getting all sorts of mediocre reactions to their performances. I've never seen them, but I do really like them.

I've decided the only Boris record I REALLY like is ABSOLUTEGO and I'd want them to perform like that if I had the good fortune of seeing them.

Jealous that you had the chance.

i missed thrones and growing. i don't really know a lot of boris' stuff except for pink and a bit of akuma. they played a lot of faster songs at first then got into the more drone-y stuff, then came back for an encore with 2 more fast ones.

i had no idea they had a girl guitarist until last night.
