Mr. dnorwood and I went to the Mission Theater last night to see "V for Vendetta" and get some grub (the theater is a pub/movie house that shows second run films for cheap). The theater wasn't too crowded, and we ended up going upstairs to sit in the balcony. There were a few more folks up there, but again, not packed. So we settle into our seats to enjoy the movie and our dinner. About halfway through the movie, I see a woman come upstairs on the left hand side, and she walks in front of us. She kinda stops in front of my husband, and my initial thought is "Why is she stopping there? Doesn't she know she's blocking his view?" She seemed to be looking around the theater for someone, like she was meeting them. My next thought was, "Wow, we're over halfway through the movie... kinda odd someone would show up this late to the movie." So then she walks down to the front of the balcony and begins yelling at a guy in the front row.

Turns out the guy was her husband, and he was there with another woman! The wife yells, "I'm his wife, by the way" and is just dropping the f bomb all over the place. She grabs his arm and tells him he's leaving, and he follows... all the while she's saying stuff like "I can't believe I married you" and "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" and "You're leaving NOW!" He turns around at one point and goes to walk back to his girlfriend. The wife nearly blows a gasket and chases him down. My husband later commented that he thought she was going to push him over the edge of the balcony. She shouts at him some more and ends up throwing beer glasses at him. He finally relents and leaves with her. You could just feel the tension in the audience, as we're all like, "What just happened???" Anyhow, the girl he was with ends up leaving for a bit, comes back, and then leaves before the movie was over. She looked significantly younger, like early 20s.

All in all, it could have been worse. We both agreed that she could have brought a gun with her. Anyhow, it was very strange to be privy to something like that.

Anything weird like that ever happen to you? That was a first for me.

That's so inappropriate. The wife should've waited outside for them and catch them on the way out. Why disrupt other peoples' experience?

Man, love makes you do crazy stuff... part of me kinda felt sorry for the guy because the way she was talking to him is the way a mother would talk down to a child, and it's even more humliating that she did in front of an audience. On the other hand, I thought, why even waste a glass of good beer on this loser? He clearly humiliated his wife by having an affair, so I guess this is what you get in return!

maybe it was one of those live action ads like they have at some theater shows in ny?

did somebody with plastered down hair and a bad suit come out afterwards and deliver a line like: 'cheat-a-way: when you just have to known for sure if he's at a 2nd run movie with a woman half his age'.

Don't make me sit on your face. I would never make a scene like that for the fact that I wouldn't want to disturb people while they're enjoying their night out. When he came home though, my foot would be in his ass.

See, I don't feel bad for the guy at all. He got the humiliation he deserved. As for ruining other peoples' experience, I'd argue that she enhanced it by giving them entertainment they never expected.

Maybe "felt sorry" are the wrong words to use... it was just painful to witness, and excruciatingly uncomfortable.

that is the least of what my wife would do to me. first she would beat the woman's ass I was with, then she would rip my dick off and throw it at the audience.

especially because V for Vendetta is a let down, experientially speaking.

I can see what Chris is saying, but only in the sense that I personally would be too self-conscious to go in and be loud and disruptive. But, I do think the dude deserves that. There really is no excuse for cheating...well, maybe there are SOME, but generally speaking there isnt. :)

what are 'some' of the excuses for cheating?

...because i really think they are NONE.

if you want to be with someone other than your significant other....then end it.

Perhaps, I was unclear. I wasn't taking the man's side. But I do believe there's a time and place for everything. She could've confronted him at home and threw him out but she didn't. She preferred to disrupt other peoples' experience, and put them in a situation where they might feel uncomfortable.

I agree. But it's all part of this "I take no responsibility" attitude that people seem to have these days.

well, I would say the some would be something to the effect of, you and your wife/husband are going through the process of separation, she/he has cheated on you(sexually), etc. I guess I see that as an exception. If, for all intents and purposes, it is over, then go find someone else.

The blatant sneaking around and fooling around by significant others is inexcusable, but if you've already been cheated on and things are ending and messed up then I say go ahead and find someone you enjoy spending time with.

My "some" was more of a "there's always an exception to a rule" statement with no real specifics to back it up.

ok. i see what you are saying....

i think that if you're going through the process of getting legally separated or divorced or whatever....then it's not cheating.... ya'll are already 'broken up'.... and now it's
just a matter of ending things in the eyes of the law.

i don't think that's 'technically' cheating then.
