I agree, I wouldn't have handled it this way. I'd plan my revenge with more care and attention to detail. ;)

Your boy Scotty D has a great way of instigating during arguments. He will stand up and say "Gaaah! Gaaah!!" to every jibe, and the say "I bet you won't hit him," I've seen it work many times to hilarious effect.

I think the public humiliation is part of the punishment. Obviously it depends on the person, some people might not care, whereas for some it might be the worst possible experience and therefore the whole scene would be a success by causing pain. Unfortunately, there's going to be some civilian casualties who have to witness it all. I wouldn't care, drama is drama.

yeah and i was cheated on twice. it's a really fun situation to deal with.

but the first time, hahaha oh man... okay so when i was 16 and found out my bf cheated on me, i went down to his school after school and beat the shit out of the girl he cheated on me with then broke up with him immediately. it was quite a scene. i know it wasn't the girl's fault but 1) i was 16 and a troublemaker in those days so i didn't give a rat's ass and 2) i was PISSED OFF. i almost got arrested too.

anyway, i have a really bad temper if someone completely pisses me off so i can kinda see why that chick flipped out in the theatre... sometimes in those type of situations you just don't think about what's around you because you're so angry.

Is watching a R-rated movie with a woman really considered cheating? Doesn't some sort of physical interaction actually have to take place at some point? I guess it could be considered a date, but the wife probably shouldn't have reacted that way unless she AT LEAST caught them making out.

I've never done that, silly...I'm just saying I don't know that Dana's scenario fits the textbook definition.

I could go to a movie with a group of friends, so long as most were male, but I'm pretty sure she'd put the kibosh on taking in a film with just one woman...unless it was like my mom or something.

Guys, I don't know the back story... judging by the way the guy and his "movie friend" reacted to her, I'm assuming the wife was right on the money. If it had been innocent, I'm sure he would have said something to that effect; he did not. He walked out like a man who got caught.

I could not see the movie couple from where I was sitting (there are tables in front of the seats so people have a place to put their beers and food), so if they were making out, I wouldn't have been able to see it anyway.

My feelings too.

Doesn't make it right but sometimes you can empathize. What if his wife is an awful person but she threatens to take your kids away if you get a divorce?

How late did she come in to the theatre? As a former theatre employee, we would have never sold a ticket to someone half way through a movie. We might have escorted her into the theatre to find her husband, but if she was visually agitated we would have kept her outside, possibly stopped the film for an emergency annnouncement while my boss would most likely be on the phone to the cops.
The theatre I worked at was in a shady part of town, so we had quite a few weirdos when it was obvious that business was extremely slow.

Uncomfortable situations? Last weekend was a prime example...

My best friend's father passed away last week. He had remarried and the second wife was never accepted by his first family. It was truly uncomfortable having to witness the second wife have an emotional breakdown in front of us -- spewing all kinds of things at my friend. Thing was, she was spot on with her accusations. My friend had been spiteful to her, omitted her from the eulogy...it was awful. The second wife clearly loved my friend's dad and took care of him to the end. It's disturbing to me that no sense of compassion was shown to this woman and my heart went out to her.

I called my friend on it and her response was "My dad led two separate lives". Uhm...ok.

I couldn't wait for the weekend to be over.

That's pretty tough, especially since you're to some extent emotionally involved in it as well.

The movie theatre couple would still be uncomfortable but also hold a bit of that car crash fascination that you can joke about afterwards cos you have zero connection with them
