Big time Canes fan here. We didn't have a good season by our standards but so far we're getting some breaks by that upset of Nebraska. (who eliminated us last year) Hopefully we take care of Manhattan tonight and we'll go from there.

If Miami wins, I don't see Nebraska being able to win two in a row against the Canes like we did last year.
BTW, Is Florida State playing real well now or was Jacksonville just an awful qualifier.

FSU isn't that powerful but yeah, Jacksonville , not an awful qualifier , is not in the same league as these guys.

Dawgs are winning 8-0 in the 8th, after being rained out yesterday.

Nebraska is losing to San Francisco 3-0 in the 3rd. They are going to become the Georgia Tech of the Big 12 this year. If they lose this game, this is the last time they receive a national top 8 seed without winning a regular or post-season title.
Georgia won 11-0, their game with Florida State should be great. I'll have to follow it tonight if I have the apartment to myself.

Still a long way to go in that game Promethium.

I hate lookin ahead but, just say Miami wins the Lincoln Regional. Do they already have another Region Champ already determined to play in the Super Regional? I'm too lazy to look for it.

Miami needs Ole Miss to lose to host the Super Regional, if Miami and Ole Miss win the regions, the Super Regional is in Mississippi

Thanks.

Ok, I just looked up the Oxford Regional. Seems I'm gonna pull for Tulane and South Alabama today.

BTW, where are you going for your live updates on these scores?

I go to the scoreboard at the NCAA.org website through a link on a local newspaper site.
Nebraska was eliminated when they lost 5-1, there should be some CWS tickets available now. I really hope the local fans show up to watch tomorrow's regional games, since none of the other teams bought more than 500 tickets this week.

FSU leads the Dawgs 1-0 in the 1st. The loser plays Jacksonville.
Texas lost 12-8 to Stanford, so the Big 12 top seeds look really overrated.

Even I can't believe Nebraska went 2 and out. Our rivalry between the schools runs much deeper in Football than in Baseball. I was hoping for some revenge of last year and was sure we were gonna play again this year. Oh well.

So far it seems the ACC is looking like the top Conference in the Tourny.

Lack of clutch hitting hurt the Huskers again today. Stranded 8 more, including the bases loaded in the 6th. Errors hurt today too.

Akansas survives (until tomorrow, at least) by scoring 6 runs in the last two innings to eliminate Princeton 6-2. Too bad I've got to play bass in church tomorrow evening, or I would head up to Fayetteville to watch them play (hopefully) 2 games. By the sound of it, I could get tickets because the first three games of the series (including 2 Arkansas games) have only been about 80% full.

Big 12 has looked awful this tournament, every Marquee win that Nebraska had this year was essentially over a now highly overrated team. They beat Texas 3 out of 4, who has now been eliminated by NC State, another team Nebraska beat, yet weak ass Stanford according to the RPI and ratings wins the region
Notre Dame went 0-2, Nebraska crushed them, but the Irish were still whining about not hosting a region or getting a number one seed.
Missouri has been the surprise team for the Big 12, but other than that they looked like the ACC has the last few years. A year ago the Big 12 had three teams in the CWS, this year they might not have one team make a Super Regional.
I had initially thought they did a good job of seeding this tournament, but now I sort of think that the RPI ratings this year were off.

Didnt' make it over to Athens Saturday which was a good call since we lost but we won both our games yesterday. Beat FSU which means we have the rubber game tonight for the Regional.

We're both pretty evenly matched but our Bullpen is the shit.

Stat I heard yesterday: UGA is 34-1 with a lead after the 6th and undefeated with a lead after 7.

My office is only 45 minutes from Athens. I may actually go down to watch this game tonight.

*PING!*

LSU's Coach Smoke Laval was fired today, Skip Bertman is thinking about making a comeback according to rumors.

I'll be cheering for Oregon State, since they play Stanford. If Oregon State makes it to the CWS again this year, they'll probably go 0-2 once again.
I'm not sure how the NCAA will determine who gets to host this Super Regional. OSU is the better team on paper, but their stadium is really tiny and a little crappy for a Super Regional. The sunken Diamond at Stanford has hosted a bunch of Super Regional games, but The Cardinal aren't the most deserving team to host this year.
Nebraska got to host Rice in 2001 when Nebraska still played at shitty Buck Beltzer stadium on campus, so that might be the only thing that helps the Beavers.

The Dawgs advanced to the Super Regionals with a 3-2 win over FSU. Georgia is on a roll and could win it with all the so called "upsets" that happened this weekend.
Georgia now plays SEC Rival South Carolina, and this will definitely be held in Athens.

BRING ON THE FUCKING GAMECOCKS!!

Went to the game last night and it was the best atmosphere for a baseball game I've been to since............well maybe ever. Granted it was majority UGA fans but everyone was hanging on every pitch and standing for every 3rd out.

More proof to me that I just enjoy attending college athletic events much more than pro.

It felt like Fall in Athens and we were about to play Tennessee in football or something. People were tailgating everywhere pre-game and it was standing room only with people finding places outside the stadium to stand and watch wherever they could get a view.

Not to mention that it was a nail biter. I have no reason to believe that UGA can't win this fucker.

I have to fucking work out of town this weekend or I'd go down for the South Cack game.

I think the two front runners are Jim Wells from Alabama and Mike Bianco from Ole Miss. I think the only way Skip coaches is if those two turn it down and he'll fill in while they search for a long term guy. Skip has to have a name to make sure the new stadium is built.

Holy Shit, Them Dawgs are getting beat down 9-0 after two innings. South Carolina has scored 9 runs on 9 hits.
Georgia better make a remarkable comeback or they are in a crap load of trouble.
