wandered over to the wintergarden yesterday for the bang on a can marathon, which was about 12 hours long and part of the opening weekend of river to river fest here in ny.
missed the piece for 100 tubas, but as fate would have it we got there just as matmos was setting up to perform.
they performed with so percussion, and immediately following them the bang on a can allstars did several pieces, including 'a is for...'.
didnt get to stay for as much as we'd liked, especially since glen kotche & steven reich performed together around 6pm, and aphex twin played around 9/9:30.
anybody else see this?

I've never heard of that marathon, but it sounds fantastic!

I thought this was going to be about Beirut.
