I could use some help for an interview I'm doing.

Thanks.

i need to make a good first impression on a japanese girl...maybe we can get loogar or someone to come up with a good pickup line or something and then we can translate it?

That's the only japanese I know. I was taught this by a friend to say hello to a japanese girl that went to my college. I never got up the nerve because, as Verbal Intercourse stated in a different thread, I am a loser. EDIT: Her name was Ami Shibuya (only mentioned here because I thought her last name was awesome).

It means, basically, "Greetings. My name is Joe."

Essentially you would say the same thing except you would say "gauchebag-des".

The only Japanese I remember from my visit besides Moshi moshi, Hai, Domo, etc...

Tsumetai beeru wo kodegasai.

Give me a cold beer.

one thing to know about japanese when written in the latin alphabet is that vowels are silent after S, P, T, H, and K.

Dammit, there's more effective ways to make a good first impression than speaking bad Japanese. A couple of universal rules that should help:

If it's a male, compliment him on the length, girth, and heft of his penis.

If it's a female, compliment her on the dank cavern-like quality of her vagina.

The save goes to Radcliffe.
And you're welcome.

what do you mean? if you answer a telephone with "moshi moshi" and pronounce the I, it doesn't sound right. it's like the softening character in russian. i guess you're not really dropping the vowel, but you don't pronounce it fully either.

Oh yeah, that's a good question - because my advice was definitely for getting a job.
