My first wedding anniversary as a divorced guy was May 25th.
Our dating anniversary (would have been 10 years) will be November 11th.
The year anniversary of her cheating on me will be November 7th-9th . . . something like that.
The year anniversary of her leaving me will be November 25th.
The year anniversary of the divorce will be March 14th.

. . . and then there are all those other dates that will stick in the head, like her birthday. Maybe time will help me forget those dates, maybe not.

You call yourself a man?
What are you doing remembering all those dates in the first place?

He's gotta make sure he keeps the dates straight so he doesn't bang the same harem member on that same date year after year. Helps to put distance between the memories and the man.

Time will help you forget, unless you really focus on them. I've been divorced 5 years (and am now remarried), and the past couple years I didn't remember the anniversary at all until a few days after, when something triggered a reminder. The first couple years were hard, but I would advise getting through the grief of the divorce, which is hard, and then do what you can to move on with your life. Certain things you'll never forget, but you can't let things like that rule your life and bring you down.

Beautiful words Stone.

I could have written that verbatim myself.

is it me or have roles reversed in the last 10 years or so

guys are the ones who remember all the dates (first meeting, first kiss, ect . . ,)
and girls are the ones doing more cheating
and girls are the ones who fear commitment

obviously this isnt' accross the board . . .
but i've noticed it.

Don't know if I'd say they've reversed, but I think women have gotten a lot more selfish over the years, which is good and bad. Good, because I think for a long time, women didn't think they "deserved" certain things in life and kept their desires/feelings hidden. Now that we've moved ahead, thanks to the womens rights movement, I think a lot of women have now decided that they want what they want, when they want it. The bad part of it is when they're selfish to the point of doing the things they've decried men doing for years, like cheating. But I will also say (not saying it's right AT ALL) that typically, women cheat for different reasons than men.

As for remembering dates, at least with me and my husband, no. My husband remembers my birthday and our anniversary, but that's about it. I still remember what I was wearing the first time I met my husband, but I know he doesn't. He can tell me the details of every Bugs Bunny cartoon ever aired though. ;)

My 14th is in June, so I'm even MORE out of touch. So, which of us Obnish currently holds the distinction of being married the longest?

I can't compete... I've only been hitched for 10 years (but we've been together for 15).

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who has done this ^^^. I remember every date. Ugh. Tuesday is our one year divorce anniversary. I'm not quite sure how I feel yet.

My 29th birthday was the first in eight years that he forgot. He has probably forgotten every "important" date, yet it's etched in my memory.
