I never really felt like the DC++ interface/config was all that difficult..? I mean, I suck at things like this normally (bit torrent clients still leave me baffled, though I understand the conceptual side of it all too well). Isn't configuring the DC passive/active mode the same as doing that in Fetch or any other ftp client?

I've had to change/reset Norton Worm Protection settings for FTP but not firewall ports (IIRC).

I'm on it more often than not, just in case someone happens to want something I have (which has happened a grand total of, say, 2.5 times in a year or so). I've snagged some great stuff from others as well. I'm saying if it's worth it to C. to keep it going, by all means do that, please.

When I configure my router, I'll jot down some generic directions.

I like it.
Usually if I can't find what I want in our hub, I connect to another of the public ones. I haven't been on since I switched jobs because my external drive hasn't been carried around with me.

The major issue I have with leaving it on all the time is a bandwidth problem. I have a VOIP phone line that competes with the computer for bandwidth, so if a person is downloading from me, then the phone becomes pretty much worthless. Once I ditch the VOIP, I should be back in force.

I love the C-wood, and have had some experience with a few different router types. I'm willing to help anyone who can't get connected - just PM me.

As much as I like to share, my ISP has other ideas as to how I should use my bandwidth. If I had it in unlimited supply I'd be on all the time, but I don't see that happening.
