Killers and SS are electro-clash?

I think Ladytron and the Faint would be appropriate suggestions even though I like neither.

I've been toying with purchasing The Fat Truckers. Heard "Anorexic Robot" in a bar over the summer and I think I really liked it. It was on a tape right after The Pop Group "She Is Beyond Good And Evil" and I may have only thought it was great because I was so pleasantly stunned at having heard The Pop Group played in a bar.

yeah, your right, the killers and ss are probably not electro clash, but they have the added synth and dance rhythms, so my clasification probably wasnt super accurate....

i like/have the faint and ladytron too.....

If you'd throw Yeah Yeah Yeahs in this catagory, then them. I wouldn't really, but I could see where some would.

If you like !!! and Fischerspooner, I'd say it's worth a shot. Download something first, of course.

One of the worst albums I've ever heard...

You could try the new Tussle album - it's fun, but a bit boring. If you're putting scissor sisters and fischerspooner together, you'd probably like the new Captain Ahab album a lot. (http://www.captain-ahab.com) That's some good LA-lectro right there...

Not sure if she is often labelled electroclash (a really silly label anyway) but since the not too distant Ladytron is one of the poster bands for it....and it is one of the better herky jerky electronica albums of the last few years....and one of my faves....

Don't really know how electroclash some of those suggestions are, despite being very good. A good overview of electroclash can be heard on the sampler "This Is Tech Pop". More specifically I like the Faint which was already mentioned, along with the following which haven't:

Soviet
Miss Kittin & The Hacker
Miss Kittin (both Dustychalk and I liked I.Com enough to put it in our top 10 of 2004)
Felix Da Housecat

Just a few more ideas.

But aren't you the same Jim Clark that said about Smoosh, "All in all it's fairly remarkable", or was that a different guy?

Nah, must've been another guy ;) Hey! Ho! Let's Go!

It's all about the rock man. I dunno what you were doing at 10 years of age but I certainly wasn't opening for a band like DCC!

Viva le rock!

There's a couple of good songs on the first Adult. album.

A.R.E. Weapons has some good songs but the album as a whole isn't that great. Try Black Mercedes, Street Gang, Hey World or my personal favorite, Saigon Disco. There's also differing quality in the downloads, some of them sound like demo versions and are really shitty.

You got that right! I don't think the Bonzo Dog Band had even made up the song "Death Cab For Cutie" when I was 10, that's how old I am! Nah, it is remarkable that anyone that age can be mature enough to perform in front of crowds like that. Doesn't mean the music is any good or that someone else wouldn't be much more deserving of the exposure, but you're right, it is remarkable :)

More along the lines of the stuff you listed:

Franz Ferdinand?
Duran Duran's new one (Astronaut?)
Action Action, Don't Cut Your Cloth to This Year's Fashions
Faint, Wet From Birth, Danse Macabre
Zoot Woman, both albums
Alpinestars, both albums

More true electroclash:

Client
Adult. <-- both albums are a must
Miss Kittin and the Hacker's First Album (! so good)
Miss Kittin's solo album is less electroclashy more electronica and other things, totally digs, JC's right (not quite in my top 10, but in my top XX year-end list, which is looking around the 25-30 mark at this point).

Yeah.

Genre-coining is so funny.

Electro-clash is just dance-rock with computer doo-dads added.

it isn't electro clash, but they're working more with keyboards, and they're danceable.
