Haha. You're just jealous. They deserved it. Better team = winners = stanely cup = go cry to some northerners who might care. :)

I actually didn't care who won the damn playoffs. But, I did have to choose a team to root for. So, I decided on Carolina. I would have been just as happy to have seen Edmonton win it.

Just for the record, I'm guessing that Edmonton, Alberta is waaaaaay more hillbilly than Raleigh, North Carolina.

I mean, does Edmonton even have a redlight yet or do they still just have that one that blinks yellow on two sides and red on the other two?

You might be right about that. Alberta is bascially Texas, just colder.

Doesn't Edmonton have the largest Mall in the World or some shit like that? I think it is bigger than Mall of America.

I haven't been to either Raleigh or Edmonton. I wouldn't say either is truly Hilbilly, but I wouldn't be degrading one of the cities as podunk if I was from the other either.

Congrats to Carolina
The only reason I wanted to see them win is that they used to be the Hartford Whalers, which then reminds me of Mallrats
"Breakfast schmeckfast. Look at the score, for god's sake. It's only the second period and I'm already up 12-2 (or something). Breakfasts come and go, Renee. But Harford? The Whale? They only beat Vancouver once, twice in a lifetime.

Yep, that would be the West Edmonton Mall.

I didn't watch a single game of the playoffs this year but I watched most of last nights game.

That 3rd period was frenetic as hell.

Edmonton gave it a hell of a run. Gives me hope for the Thrashers if they can make the playoffs next year.

I've never been a big hockey fan but I've always enjoyed going to games. It's going to take my team (Thrashers) going deep into the playoffs for me to really get on board I think. I just want them to get in the playoffs so I can have an excuse to grow a beard.

Congrats to Carolina.

In lieu of a Thrashers's run deep into the playoff, you could do it up proper and join al-Qaeda.

Carolina probably was the better team vs. Edmonton, but Carolina has also had some of the best playoff luck of any team I can think of. In the conference finals, half of Buffalo's squad goes down with injuries. In Game 1 of the cup finals, Edmonton loses Roloson, who might have been their best player (though these playoffs at least).

Yeah, Carolina lost Cole in March, but at least they picked up Weight and Recchi at the deadline to take up the slack. Other than that, did they have any injuries at all?

Normally, I'd guess it was god favoring the high concentration of bible heavers, but since most of them probably had no clue all the hurricane talk was about something that wasn't weather related, I don't get it. Did Brind'amour sell his soul to satan for a career year and the cup?

Yes, I'm still bitter.

1. I don't think Roloson was their best player at all. Markkanen stepped it up and played just as well as Cam Ward if you ask me. Just had less time to shine. Plus, there is Pronger and Pisani and Torres and Spacek and Horcoff. I don't say they're better than Roloson, but they are certainly of equal quality if you can even compare goalies to the rest of the team.

2. Aaron Ward was out for at least a game. technically a game and a half, and we lost both of those. He also scored the first goal of last night's game. So his absence hurt the team. Someone else was hurt too. I believe the original goalie was not supposed to be Cam Ward. I can't remember now.

The injuries in Buffalo were a raw deal for sure though.
