With the recent Gallup poll that shows nearly 50% of democrats 'definitely would not vote' for Hillary, Kerry or Gore, who do we run? Obama's too new, Lieberman's too old, McCain found religion and joined the dark side for real, Colin Powell's name is mud, Edwards will get shellacked...

So that leaves us with Wesley Clark, Evan Bayh, Bill Richardson, Russ Feingold, Joe Biden...who do the Dems want? I have to admit I was hoping that McCain would run for us before he went back to the darkside in 04.

I guess out of that group, Richardson or Clark is the best choice, assuming they can get the support of the whole party.

New rule, all previous presidential failures (Biden, Kerry, Edwards, Lieberman, Dean, Gore) need not apply.

i don't think Biden tried that hard.
he's not a failure in the same scope that Kerry, Edwards, Lieberman, Dean and Gore were.

i bet most people don't even know who he is. Which is a good thing in my opinion.

Gore-Clark beats Romney-Huckabee I predict.

But Mark Warner is the "fresh face" you are looking for.

Look back to 88...Biden was and is always serious.

The guy y'all ain't seeing is Mark Warner, former gov of Virginia.

If anyone takes Hillary its him..but it will be weird, and depend on the primary schedules.

Also, how come Republican candidates can run again, but not Dems?
So weird how that works. Maybe its cos one party always knows what it wants and the other is constantly trying to 're-invent' itself, and then comes out for things like "a $1 raise in the minumum wage," while failing to even MENTION Iraq in their piss-poor attempt at making a new Contract with America?

Hillary is a Democratic primary cock-tease. She won't run, she'll never run.

We're retards if we pick another Senator to run this year. I'd agree with Loogs and say that someone like Mark Warner is the route to go. Why isn't anyone mentioning Tom Vilsack again or any other relatively successful Democratic Governor.

Vilsack just finished fourth in a straw poll in his own state. He's history.

Gore... a movie star, not a senator. Like Arnold in CA.

Clark is dogshit. "Hey guys! I'm from Arkansas, just like Bill Clinton! Did I mention I was in the Army?"

Gore will be the first U.S. native Secretary-General of the UN. Unlike Clinton (Bill), whose principal post-White House goal is SG of UN, AGII would be coming in from a humbled, but not bowed, position. He would not be the "arrogant" American. An American of prestige AND power will never be SG. Thus, for that reason, ix-nay on the inton-clay for Sec'y-Gen.

Gore was even more unpopular than Hilary on the latest poll of who people won't vote for. The average Joe could give a rats ass about his Environmental documentary and book and I think alot of them view him just like he was portrayed on that recent South Park episode.
Vilsack finishes fourth because Iowans are Idiots and they essentially personify the Democratic party right now.
They either need a Governor or a celebrity, since I don't see any well known Liberal leaning Capitalists or Military men stepping up.

I'd totally root for vilsack, but yeah, nobody has a clue of who he is. I like Biden, but I don't think he's got much to lean on.

I'd think Warner's the best bet at this point

Even if she did, there's no chance she'd ever win. Hell, even I wouldn't vote for her.
